Overall I would say this hotel is good, but the pool and fitness area were under construction with no prior warning on the online travel website, so I was without those amenities. Other than that I was pleased with the room, service and restaurant.

Hotel was not flexible in cancelling a stay more than one day in advance. Pool was closed for renovation and did not find out until i arrived at the hotel. Room containing vending and ice was covered in dust from renovations. While getting my bag from the "bag boys" were insistent to the point of obnoxious about taking my bag. when i told him that i had it, he told me that the guests were not allowed to carry their own bags. Very little food close to this hotel except for the hotel restaurant.
Great value - fine hotel, says Mr. Chicago

I travel to CA every year about this time for a family gathering in Santa Monica. In the past, I've stayed at the Sheraton Delfina, close to the pier; a grand hotel - but pricey. I chose this location w/trepidation, especially after reading some of the reviews. But I liked the price. Since I relied on the feedback on this site, I'd like to share my experience. The bottom line, this hotel was perfect for me. The location was excellent; just off the 405, with easy access. Parking cost $10 a night, but it's a secure lot; it's worth the price. The hotel was clean. Check-in was quick; check-out was even quicker - it just required a call to the front desk. The staff was friendly. Elevators were slow but adequate (one was out of order during my stay). The room was kind of small but clean and quiet. (My room overlooked the parking lot, away from the highway noise. Consider making that request when booking your room). The king-sized bed was comfortable, and 2 different types of pillows were provided. The air conditioner was loud but very efficient. I ran it for about 10 minutes before going to bed each night. The room cooled off quickly and stayed cool throughout the night. And finally, there were two computers in the hotel; 1 in the lobby, the other in an enclosed room reserved for guests. I had no problems gaining access to check email each day and setting up my fantasy football team (one of my top priorities when I travel). I'll be back here next year.

First impressions can kill, but the reality is that this is a cheaper option to the overly expensive alternatives. The property is undergoing renovation. The room we stayed in had been completed. And, while the reno wont set your fashion taste buds on fire, the room was clean, neat and tidy. The major upgrade appearing to be in the bathroom with new and improved fittings.
The staff, for us, were nothing short of helpful. The pool was in very good condition (my teenage kids loved the 3m+ deep end!). The gym, while adequate, was small (2 treadmills, 1 stepper, 2 bikes and a tired weight centre).
The restaurant, while perceivedly tired, was good both in terms of value for money and service. Try their hot chocolates!
We used the hotel as a point to rest up before another day's assault on the plethora of Theme Parks and Hollywood local to Los Angeles.
I DON'T REMEMBER A THING TO COMPLAINT!
