We stayed for Valentine's Day. You have to book the theme suites ahead of time, but they are worth it, they were beautiful, comfortable rooms with lots of pretty details. The rustic-style furniture and stone fireplace created a great ambiance in the room. Location from downtown is quite close and although there isn't hardly anything in dining or attractions immediately near the hotel, downtown is less than 5 minutes away. We checked in with the manager who was extremely pleasant and professional. The night auditor was horrible--I called to ask for two champagne glasses sent to our room and she rudely replied that she couldn't leave the desk because no one else was there and that we could get a couple of wine glasses at the front desk (they were water goblets). It really put me off that the woman was so rude. Also, we realized when we came back from dinner that the outer door was unlocked and didn't require a key. Other than that, a great stay!
Great Getaway Hotel

A great value for getting away to beautiful Galena. The hotel is 'at the lake' lodge like with a wonderful warm and inviting decor to go along with welcoming and helpful staff. Hotel amenities made it easy to stay in and enjoy being a couple when we needed a break to swim, enjoy the sauna or hot tub or just to nap in peace. It is also close enough to downtown to get there in about 5 minutes. If you're in the mood for some mainstream shopping or a movie, Debuque is a quick 15 minutes down the road. My wife and I loved every minute of our time there.

Beutiful woodsey feel very relaxing and the staff were so nice
Stoney Creek Inn
The rooms were nicely maintained and spacious. We would have preferred Queen Size beds over the Doubles provided. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was quite satisfactory and in a larger than normal breakfast area. My husband thought the decor of the Northwoods was a little overboard, but our children loved it. The pool area was large and fun for the kids with a nicely set-off and decorated whirlpool area.
