Older well kept property. On main street with lots of motels. Very convenient location without paying to be right downtown or on the bay. I was there during a slow time but it was very quiet. Did not hear street noise during the night. Comfortable bed & pillows. Basic bedding, nicer towels than I expected for the price. Shower head produced only o.k. spray. Clean bathroom. Very friendly front desk. Breaskfast was basic danish & so so coffee. I'm fairly picky about coffee so even at more expensive places I usually go out for coffee & better baked goods so I didn't really care. When I travel, I am there to see the sights not hang out in a motel room. All I need is a safe, comfortable place to get a good night's sleep and shower. El Adobe fit my needs quite well. I've stayed nicer places but also paid much more. Convenient location, clean room, friendly service & price will bring me back again.
"Good, but not a dog walk in the park"

The hotel is in a strip of hotels. There is a $15 per pet/day fee.You are "not supposed" to leave your pets unattended. A "pet-friendly" room doesn't have any pet amenities like water/food bowls. Plus, you have to take your dog across the street for pottying. If you're vacationing for the wharf or cannery row, I'd stay in Monterey. Also, find a pet friendly restaurant (ex. Carmel's A Forge in the Forest). You can take your pooch to the wharf and cannery, but I would not count on the stores/restaurants allowing him to come in.
