Disappointed Traveler

  • August 1, 2008
  • Rated 4 of 5 by a traveler from Travelocity.com
This resort had a lot to offer, but was too big for us. When we checked in, the line to get the "welcome package" was so long, we chose not to stay. We went back that evening and got a very curt response from the front desk. Then, our second day there, we got a call from the front desk at 9:00 a.m. to inform us that we had not yet picked up our welcome package. Very annoying. Although our room was as advertised, it was very dated and much too far from the pools for the amount of money it cost. The pools, although impressive, were packed, it was difficult to find a chair, and the music was so loud you could not even talk. However, the security was good and the grounds maintenance was excellent. Everything outside was clean, well manicured and beautiful. Our rooms were also very clean. We felt very secure on the property but would have much more enjoyed our stay if we had been more centrally located.

Find Another Place To Stay

I am a timeshare owner at the Sheraton Vistana Resort. I booked a good friend of mine and his son to stay in June. They had never been to Orlando. They looked forward to the trip all Spring. The accommodations were not comparable to my timeshare ownership. The staff was not helpful to me or my guest. Neither the resort or the Sheraton Resort Association did anything to satisfy my guests. I called hour after hour, day after day once they had arrived to get assistance for my guest. NOTHING was done to help. Don't waste your time. Find another place to stay!

Stayed in 2 bedroom villa, very generous in size for a family of 6. Kids had a great time in pools. Great, brand new video game room. Staff very polite and helpful. Kids meet many great friends, teens continue to be in contact with friends meet at Resort. Rooms a little outdated with decor but good comfort and great location. Thank you.

Watch out for vacation ownership pitch!

  • June 25, 2008
  • Rated 5 of 5 by a traveler from Travelocity.com
The suite was great with lots of room, full kitchen with dishes and utensils, great bathrooms and wonderful beds. The kids enjoyed the swimming pool. At the front desk they give you a welcome packet but they also offer you a financial incentive to listen to the pitch about vacation ownership of this property and others. They said it would take about 1.5 to 2 hours but we spent almost 4 hours and didn't buy so be aware if you want to spend your whole morning that way. Otherwise, it is a beautiful property and I would stay there again.

Great Room

With two adults and two teens, the accommodations were perfect -- it was actually an apartment (recently very nicely renovated) with two br, two baths, a fully equipped kitchen. Plasma tv in both br's and in the LR. And the price was no more than a good hotel, even less. But the keycard would not work well in the fitness facility, and the response from the front desk was "sometimes it doesn't work; just keep trying". So we never could get into the sauna or the weight room. The location is perfect. 5 minutes from Disney, 10 min from Universal. Close to many, many restaurants - and a Publix. In the end, we loved it and will definitely return.
