A mostly great review

The front desk folks were great. The pool and pool staff were great. The facility was clean. Clean towels abounded. The cleaning staff were friendly and polite. Others in our party had a terrific room. They had lots of room, a refrigerator, and a microwave. Our room was tiny, back in a corner, and we were subject to the noise from adjoining rooms and people in the hallway entering and leaving their rooms. We had no refrigerator. We were glad that the guests we brought with us had such nice accommodations. (They had children with them.) My husband and I did not, and our room was not nearly as large or as well supplied with extras.

Friendly staff, nice hotel

Staff was very friendly. Shuttle service to airport and downtown was very convenient (though they did manage to lose the entry for my pickup from downtown at night, so I had to cab it back). Free drinks were certainly a nice touch. Pool and hot tub were a little down at heels but all were working fine and health club staff was equally friendly. Breakfast was decent.

Fantastic service!

I was recently in Pittsburgh and wanted an affordable hotel room for a night. And what a bargain. This hotel was as good as any Hyatt I have stayed in previously. The fitness center was an actual fitness center in an adjacent building and was better than my YMCA. The breakfast was great. The hotel has a shuttle service that was equivalent to a taxi and willing to take me to any part of the city and pick me up at any time I choose and the driver was very forthcoming with the good and bad points of the city. While the hotel is outside the downtown area, the hotel van got me into the heart of the city in 10-15 minutes. There was a computer center (free of charge) in case you forget your laptop. The staff was very accomodating answering any question. And I forgot to mention the happy hour with 3 free drinks! So if you are going to Pittsburgh, it would probably be a mistake to stay at any place other than this hotel. This experience is one of my top 3 stays. I just wish all Best Westerns were as good.

We had a great stay at this hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was very nice and roomy. We checked in at 5:00 and were pleasantly surprised that there was a happy hour from 5-7. We were only there overnight but would definitely stay again the next time I'm in Pittsburgh.

Not what I expected

It was okay, not exactly what I had expected. The shuttle service was decent but they did leave us stranded 1 night after saying that they were on their way. Just wish they would be more up front about any delays. NO WATER in the rooms for 1 day- happened to be on the day of the game, had to shower in the adjacent gym. Most of the desk staff was unpleasant and not too helpful. Had to find a cleaning lady to get me the maintenance person to help me find my contact that went down the drain. But I had called or went down to the front desk every hour and was told each time that maintenance was not in yet. But the cleaning lady brought him in 5 mins. Thank goodness for her!
