Wonderful Hotel

The hotel was really easy to find. Once we arrived for check in, there was a man at the desk who performed magic tricks for our children. We were shown how to get to our rooms. The rooms were nice and spacious. The beds were very comfortable, a little firm, but I like that. The bathrooms were large and the shower was really nice. Even thought the hotel is located right next to the airport, our rooms were sound proof, we never heard a plane while we were in our room. We went to the pool the first night. The children played in there for hours. All of our travel destinations were close by the hotel. The Magic Time Machine Resturaunt is right around the corner, so that was exciting. We will use this hotel again the next time we visit San Antonio.

Second time back in a month!

This is the second time I have stayed at this motel in the last month. I have been traveling on business and this is by far the best motel I have stayed at this year. As I reported earlier, the pool & grounds are immaculate, the rooms spotless and everything is just great. Several staff members welcomed me back by name (remembering me from my past trip 3-weeks before) and did their best to make my stay great. I had some Internet connection issues, and their Internet guru came up at 11:30 PM and put in a new box for me. If you get there in the early afternoon, park along the building just after the gate, but not around the back. This area gets afternoon shade from the trees and building. My trip was during 100 degree plus weather, but the room A/C worked perfectly and the pool was very refreshing. If you ask at the desk, they will give you Tide and dryer sheets, which are considered complimentary. They also have 24 hour coffee and tea service in the lobby, but I was surprised that they only had non-dairy creamers for their guests. They said it was Marriott Hotel's new policy to only offer non-dairy creamer. When I ask, the person at the desk went back to the kitchen where they make the morning breakfast buffet and brought me a little pitcher of half & half for my evenings beverages. This is service! While they could not let me stay a long time after checkout time in the room, they did let me use the business center & hang out by the pool until I left.

Great Rooms & Sevice, Best pool in area!

This is a gem of a motel. Everything is as it should be. The rooms are clean and everything worked perfectly. The grounds are immaculate & a gated parking lot provides some additional security. All exterior doors except the front door required use of the credit-card room keys to enter. There is a small store with drinks (including beer) and snack items, but there is also a McDonalds next door if all you want is a cheap pop or something for the kids to eat. The business center is a little too opened and anyone can stand around as see what you are doing on your computer, but the wireless network in the rooms was free and worked well. The highlight is the outdoor pool and whirlpool area. Apparently the pool area is the place to see and be seen, with some guest stripping down to thong swimwear. However, the pool itself is not big enough for serious exercise. (The pool seemed to draw the most attractive swimmers mid-day.) Towels are available in the whirlpool area now (but not at the pool itself). The whirlpool is covered with a large opened roof which makes it usable most of the year, except in the windiest weather. There are mature trees surrounding the pool area, and at any give time some of the deck furniture is in the shade. Many people who came to the pool could not figure out the "child proof" gate latches. A placard explaining how to use them would be helpfull. The motel offers a breakfast buffet with hot eggs, bacon, sausages, biscuits, etc. but unless you are really hungary or want to eat it as a brunch, it seemed a bit pricey. Overall, a wonderfull motel with an almost perfect pool set in well manacured park-like grounds.

Great value & convenient location

There is some construction along 410 however this hotel is not affected by that other than to go east on 410 from the hotel you have to go up a few lights to get on the loop. We were able to get to Fiesta Texas within 15 minutes both days. The hotel staff was very efficient upon check-in and replaced our pillows (we needed fiberfill because of allergies) within just a few minutes. The room was clean as was the bathroom. There were plenty of towels available in the room as well as a small refridgerator which came in handy for our dinner leftovers. The only real complaint I could give about this hotel was the lack of towels by the pool. The towels for the pool were kept in the exercise room and we were not aware of this until we had already jumped in the pool. Overall I would give this hotel an 8.5 out of 10. I'd give it a 10 but I generally save that for more upscale hotels.

Our second visit to this property. We like the quiet, secluded atmosphere, yet you are close to the airport and Trinity University. Lots of good restaraunts in the area. Rooms around the courtyard are the best.
