Orange Lake Country Club

Best Things Nearby:
Old Town Kissimmee, amusement parks, good restaurants.

Best Things About the Resort:
If you're a golfer, it's right on the golf course.

Resort Experience:
Orange Lake Country Club is very nice. It's clean. The villas are large and very comfortable. The grounds and common areas are well maintained. Close to I4 and all the attractions. Surprised that the master bedroom only had one sink and a small tub.

Exchangers BEWARE of the units at Orange Lake in Orlando,Florida ! Upon check-in on Saturday evening we had 4 light bulbs not working, later the blender seized and smoked like crazy, the patio screen door was not installed, next day the screen door handle fell off, the vcr had a tape stuck in it, the place was filthy dirty, the dryer did not work, the entrance door chain lock is installed backwards, we found rotten tomatos in the fridge, I asked upon check-in if local calls were free and was told yes they are free, at check-out I was forced to pay for the local calls because the Manager told me only certain local calls were free! Which the check-in employees were not even aware of! The grounds are Gorgeous and the Units are garbage! The resort manager told me that the units were close to renovation! Do they call this Gold Crown?

Orange Lake Country Club

Best Things Nearby:
Golf, Disney, Universal, Outlet Malls, Old Town, and restaurants.

Best Things About the Resort:
Good layout, clean units, friendly staff, and the location.

Resort Experience:
We had a nice little 2-bedroom unit (a "golf villa") right by the front gate, about a 10-minute walk from the main check-in/activity centre. That suited us just fine, as the kids were old enough to wander the resort at their leisure, and we could hang around in the quiet, relaxing, comfortable villa. There was a heated, good-sized pool and hot tub located just outside the back patio of our unit - heavenly, particularly because we were the only ones that used it! The unit was clean and spacious, and decorated in the typical Florida style. The washer and dryer, and two of the three TVs in the unit were old but what the heck - they worked fine. The resort staff was friendly and polite, even when they were kicking us out of the pool early due to an incoming storm. The grounds were gorgeous and well-maintained. We attended the timeshare presentation (after receiving about 3 phone calls from resort staff) so we could get our $50 cash, and said no thanks to parting with any of our cash to buy at Orange Lake (buy re-sale!). We golfed on 3 different courses (try the Legend's Walk at night - wonderful!) and made use of the driving range too. The Publix market was close and reasonably priced, although we bought too much as we rarely ate a meal in the villa. All in all, a terrific resort, and one I would return to 5 or 6 years from now.

Our 2-bedroom golf villa was spacious and clean. The kitchen was well-quipped, and the supplies left for us by housekeeping were plentiful. The washer and dryer were quite old and rather noisy, but they worked. There were three TVs in the unit, two of which were old, but again - they worked.

Best Things Nearby:
Disney World is 4 miles away, and other Orlando theme parks are nearby.

Best Things About the Resort:
The unit was very spacious and well appointed. The resort itself is huge and getting bigger, with golf, pools, activities, restaurants, and other services.

Resort Experience:
We chose this resort because of its proximity to Disney World, so we didn't make use of many of the services that it offers. It was too cool to swim, but the place clearly caters to golfers. We did take walks on paved paths around beautifully landscaped golf courses. They are building a new area which will have a water park bigger than Disney's, and from the new buildings one can supposedly see the giraffes at Animal Kingdom as their property abuts Disney.
