The clerk was very helpful and informative. I had never been to Berkeley before. The building was clean and there wasnt any funny smells. Including the rooms. There was sense of crisp cleanliness. And the beds were sooo comfortable. The cont. breakfast, Oh my Lord!!!! Was great. It wasnt just donuts and fruit. It was eggs and sausage and waffles and so much more. I plan on staying there when ever i need to go to Oakland.

the room was very clean, nice comfortable king size bed, the sunbeam shower head was the best. The hallways smelled, the ice machine was broken and never got fixed, security was not visible/lacking. the front desk was understaffed, when we asked for something we had to call twice. the drunks in the parking lot were out there all night long, and then in the morning when the neighbor took a shower we heard it loud and clear, the breakfast sucked.
Okay hotel but showing age... not ready for business travel.

... in little things like shabbiness, stains on upholstery, leftover smells from previous years, etc. Also there was a constant of traffic and airport noise. I also had to spend several minutes waiting for the staff to finish obviously personal conversations every time I went to the desk. Lack of a business center capable of printing and faxing makes this a non-business travel hotel.

Room was clean, staff was courteous... the room was not well sound proofed. We could hear everything. The neighbors, the doors opening closing, cars outside, and most disturbing were the maids talking in the halls in the wee hours.
