Old motel, at least 30-35 yrs old and it shows it. approx 90% of guest were 16-25 yrs old lots of noise, bands (several) played until 2-3AM, difficult to sleep with noise had unit with king on ground floor on beach, none stop noise, room was OLD.Carpet dirty, paint peeling on doors. for an average of $250 a night, I expected better. No room service available,no ice machines. they charge you $5 to use lounge & $5 to use louge pad. several restaurants closed, food average at best & expensive. there is no beach, unless you consider a 5ft strip of sand a beach. for what I spent I could have stayed at the Hampton Inn Will NOT return.

dont believe the pictures

Holiday Isle is a good destination to stay overnight on the way to the lower keys. However the internet pics and description are WAY overstated and misleading!!!! The resort does not have alot to do and the facilities are in dire need of UPGRADES. The drinks are overpriced at eight dollars for signature drinks(rum runners etc..) and four dollars for beers. You will also be charged five dollars a day for a chair to lay out unless you want to stay in the tiny section they have just for guests where unless you tell them that you are staying there they dont ask and charge you five dollars anyway..On the plus side: do yourself a favor and walk south across the bridge and enjoy happy hour(4 to 7) at Whale Harbor "WAHOOS". Here you can enjoy $2.00 beers and half priced drinks and apps..The wings are awesome and the the bar is lots of fun. The DIVE SHOP is the only silver lining at Holiday Isle...Cap'n Kelly and staff are WONDERFUL and very accomidating..Summary: Resort not worth it...Dive shop awesome and location soo close to Whale Harbor is a plus.....Would not stay here again!!!!!!!!!!

Save your money....

I work in the Hotel business on Miami Beach (front desk supervisor). So I know what I'm talking about. The rooms are horrible and seem like the were nice back in the 80's, but suck now. Mold everywere, sheets that itched and made your skin feel soar (like sleeping on sandpaper), stains on rug and furnishings, safe has a "universal key" (no point), bathroom with mold and very hard/dirty water, towels that smelled horrible and felt like sand paper, and mini bar not stocked (except for some mold and fridge didn't work). Closit was non existant, but did have a rack/pole by the door to hang your cloths (6 items MAX!!) Pools were not heated as advertised, the "nightly live reggae band" was not present, nor nightly Only the Tikki bar was open! What a rip off!!!!! The front desk staff was rude, and even checked me into A DIRTY ROOM! If one of my adgents did that they'd be fired on the spot, they didn't even offer an upgrade to a VCI (ready) room as is standard procedure! On check-in I was told that I could not pay for an upgrade, because they "couldn't move me although capacity was only at 39%." (I know this is bs.) Then I have to wait for the "first available room" which was a MAJOR downgrade in price, but actually from seeing the other room... just as bad... I had to wait till 5pm, guaranteed checkin was at 2:30!! The location is the only thing that makes this a nice spot, but you don't have to stay at the hotel to eat / drink on the premisis. I've stayed at nicer Holiday Inn's..... save your money. Don't stay here! Restaurants/bars weren't even open... except the Tikki bar, which was very nice.

Fun vacation spot, just what we needed!

Visiting Miami we decided to pop down to the keys and discover a great hotel in the Holiday Isle. There is a a lot of energy here with mulitple bars and restaurants, nice pool scene and right on the ocean. It was fun and relaxing. Plenty to do in water sports, fishing and sightseeing. From this hotel you can easily get to any other Keys attraction. I would recommend it again. Great value too.
