The Holiday Isle was very old, but it was clean. The bathroom really needed a new shower head, instead of the 4 holes of water stream pouring out. Also, if you want to go out on the balcony, you need arms of steel to open and close the door. You also had to jerk the door in order to lock or unlock it. It was too humid to lay by the pool, but others were. The beach chairs they have are very old and totally made out of boards, so comfort was not there. There are at least 3 different bars around the outside area, 2 were tiki type bars, and they were real cool. You are not allowed to carry your own food or drinks to the pool because they made you buy theirs at the bar. The staff was very nice and helpful. The crowd was pretty much in their 20's, so I really don't reccomend it for any one 40 or over.

We just got back from a two night stay here and had a wonderful time. We were only
going to stay one night, but had such a nice room and great time that we stayed another night.
The room was ocean front, bottom floor with a whirlpool tub. It was very clean. Bed was comfy too.
The property is a little dated but is kept clean and neat.
The front desk staff (Bridget & Mgr. on duty) was very friendly, accomodating and helpful. The bartender(Kim) at the Tiki Bar was great as well.
I would recommend this place, we have been here twice and love the view of the ocean and the atmosphere.
Looking forward to going back!

I stayed for the New Years eve and became a nightmare, starting with the OVERPRICED rooms $*** each on the first floor, to the facilities. The doors where broken and you could easily brake in or see through the cracks..if you want to enjoy the 25' wide beach strip you have to pay $10.00 X person, you can't consume nothing outside your rooms including water or sodas unless you buy it from them $$$ and last but not least , the HARRASSMENT from the staff.

Pros:
World class fishing from the marina.
Beaches are decent for the Keys.
Pool was clean,
Room was clean except for carpet stains and did not have the musty smell common in Keys hotels.
The Tiki Bars are great to hang out in.
Cons:
Food service - the waterside restaurant's food was mediocre and overpriced with no table service. There is a kiosk that offers decent bar-type food, but you really need to leave the resort to get a good dinner.
Beach chair rental - They charge $5 per person per day for beach chairs. You can't sit at the pool or the beach, their two best amenities, without paying up. We were advised when making our reservations to bring our own beach chairs to avoid the fee, which I appreciated. However, when I tried to use my own chair in front of my beachfront room I was (politely) sent packing to their 'private beach'. It's a fenced off area segregated from the pool, restaurant, bars etc. and pretty far from my room. This is not what I had in mind when I booked that room. Several staff people told me that they have received numerous complaints about the policy, to no avail. Registered guests should be able to sit wherever they wish. This is not a good way to earn repeat business.
The resort is in a bit better shape than it was a year ago, and our room was OK, but parts of it are still pretty shabby. If they do some basic maintenance, upgrade the restaurant options considerably and drop the beach chair policy I'd consider going back, but for now it's just a nice place to stop for a Rumrunner and charter a fishing trip while staying somewhere else.
