Rosedale on Robson

  • February 11, 2005
  • Rated 1 of 5 by gflhr from Covina, California
Best Things Nearby:
Robson Street has lots of coffee shops and great shopping stores within walking distance.

Best Things About the Resort:
The room, although quite small, was very nicely furnished and was well-contained.

Resort Experience:
The hotel staff was courteous but did not go out of its way to make our stay pleasant. It was awkward, since we were told to ask the hotel staff for anything, rather than go outside the hotel to an adjacent office to request items. We were also a little annoyed at the fact that we were never told we had to pay for parking, which was an expense we did not anticipate: $9 daily. At the time of our stay, there was contruction going on nearby, so it was quite noisy. The view from our room was of an adjacent high-rise building. We ate at the restaurant inside the hotel, and both times, my husband and I were sick. No activities were scheduled for the week that were were there.

Best Things Nearby:
This resort is in a prime location-at the corner of Hamilton and Robson. Everything you could possible want is within walking distance, including fabulous restaurants, nightclubs, museums, theaters, Gastown, Stanley Park, and more.

Best Things About the Resort:
Besides the location, this resort has a fabulous view.

Resort Experience:
The resort is a high rise with fabulous views of the city. The units are small, but well equipped and clean. The one-bedroom units are best suited for a couple. There is a double bed in the bedroom and a small sleeper sofa in the living room. The resort has a gym, a pool, and a hot tub.

Best Things Nearby:
Downtown Vancouver, Public Library, False Creek, Robson Street Shopping, Granville Island, Yaletown District.

Best Things About the Resort:
Very good location, friendly staff, comfortable and clean accomodations.

Resort Experience:
We spent a week in a one bedroom at the Rosedale on Robson this past summer. We previously lived in Vancouver and have family there, so it was nice to stay downtown instead of in the suburbs with family. The resort is located in Yaletown District, which has become quite upscale over the years with trendy shops, restaurants and condo living.

The one bedroom though small was comfortable and very clean. We had a great view of downtown and everyday it was great to look out over the city and see English Bay and the North Shore Mountains framed by the sky scrapers of the Vancouver skyline.

Yaletown is a short walk down to Granville Street and the start of the primary shopping district. Vancouver is a beautiful city, sitting right on English Bay. With views of mountain and sea, it is one of the most beautiful places I have been. It is clean, safe and easy to get around on public transportation in Vancouver; the bus is right at the corner of the resort. The staff was very, very helpful, and though there were no real planned activities, that was ok with us. We would visit again if the opportunity presented itself.

We stayed in a nice one-bedroom suite with a adequate kitchen area with microwave, stove, fridge. TVs in bedroom and living room. Great location on lower Robson and two blocks from Yaletown. Exercise room, pool, and spa -- what more could you ask for?
