Good place to stay overall

Quote: This hotel is not new, but we found it maintained, clean and comfortable and the price was right. The staff was very hospitable and helpful and recommended a really good restaurant, which was also reasonably priced. We would definitely stay here... Read the full Best Western Alpine Lodge review

Quote: This is a nice hotel, but we had an issue with a18 wheel truck that was parked in the back parking lot near our room that was running all night long and it was making lots of engine noise keeping us awake. We complained, but nothing was done about... Read the full Best Western Alpine Lodge review

It worked out great for us...we were up for the Big Mack. Bridge Walk

  • 4 out of 5 stars A traveler from Travelocity.com
  • February 3, 2011
Quote: It was last minute that a bunch of us decided to head to Mackinaw for the annual bridge walk. It was hard to get a motel up that way, last minute. I used Travelocity to search for a motel. This one came up and was the best price we could get. I even... Read the full Best Western Alpine Lodge review

Quote: These people are just too sweet. The desk lady knew exactly who I was right when I walked in to check-in. We were probably the only Asians in Gaylord, Michigan. She then helped me out, let me know about the continental breakfast, and where I should... Read the full Best Western Alpine Lodge review

Quote: I read the reviews before booking and I admit was a bit nervous, but it was a great price for a girl's weekend with friends. The staff was friendly, we were able to check in early. Room was clean, bathroom clean. It is an older hotel, but by no... Read the full Best Western Alpine Lodge review

Quote: I didn't check any of the reviews prior to our stay. We arrived early, and were told RUDELY that our room wasn't ready. We had a delightful time shopping downtown. When we returned, we requested a first floor room. We were charged $* extra for... Read the full Best Western Alpine Lodge review

Not a hidden gem!

  • 2 out of 5 stars A traveler from Travelocity.com
  • July 28, 2010
Quote: I read the reviews before we booked. The price was super cheap, the town was really cute, the hotel not as nice, however the staff was friendly. The beds were hard as rock, the bathroom was tiny and we are a thin family, the pool needed a scrub.
