My Favorate

This is my families favorate spot to stay when we visit disney. Great Location, Great Resort, now if they only had good service. Unless you actually own a timeshare at this location don't expect to be treated very well. However you only talk to someone at check in and check out so you and kind of overlook that fact considering you get such a great place.

Plenty of room

  • May 23, 2006
  • Rated 4 of 5 by a traveler from Travelocity.com
We have stayed here on two different trips and have been impressed with the size and condition of the rooms. Plenty of space for the 8 people in our traveling group. Large kitchen and screened porch are wonderful. Both times we have been lucky enough to be near the playground. They are supposed to be expanding the resort, but in the 4 years between our trips nothing changed except they added a pool. Fitness room was tiny (an improvement was promised). However, you can't beat the location and the room size!

Embassy Vacation Resort at Grand Beach

This is the third time we have stayed at this resort, and it just keeps getting better. The villas at Grand Beach mostly have three bedrooms. (One newer building has lock-off units, so you may see a 1- or 2-bedroom for exchange or rent.)

The three bedroom units are well planned and would be suitable for two families since there are two master suites at opposite ends of the unit. Both have king-size beds, bathtubs (one is a whirlpool), and a separate shower. Both have large TV's, ceiling fans, and plenty of storage.

The third bedroom has twin beds and a bathroom across the hall. This bedroom also has a TV and ceiling fan. The third bath has a regular tub/shower combination with sliding glass shower doors.

The kitchen and living room are open to each other. The kitchen has everything you'd need to prepare family meals. Cookie sheets, muffin pans, and baking pans are available if you call housekeeping. The kitchen table seats six, which is odd since the villa can accommodate eight. The utility closet contains a stacking, full-size washer/dryer; sweeper; mop; broom; etc.

Some guests may not care for the slate floors. They are not completely smooth and are very dark. The wooden kitchen chairs seem a bit noisy on this surface. You will probably hear your upstairs neighbors.

The living room has a pullout sofa, two chairs, coffee and end tables, TV, stereo, and DVD player. French doors lead to a screened porch with a table and four chairs.

The details in these units are what I like. I felt like we were staying in someone's home. There were pictures on the walls, matching window valances, wooden blinds on the living room windows, chair rail, and carpet in the living room and bedrooms.

The grounds at this resort are extremely beautiful. A sidewalk runs along the lake. It was a lovely place to walk in the evenings. There are two "dock" areas extending into the water. Chairs and hammocks are positioned along the shore for rest and relaxation.

There is a pool behind the clubhouse, along with a whirlpool and a children's area. There is also a newer pool on the opposite end of the resort. This area also has a whirlpool and a children's pool. Vending machines and restrooms are in this area. Pool towels are provided.

Embassy Vacation Resort Orlando

This is my home resort, and I love it. Everyone who visits there with me is so impressed. It's reminiscent of the Grand Floridian with its white exterior and red roof. It is located on a private lake, Lake Bryan, just a couple of miles from the Magic Kingdom and Disney Village. The premium outlets are close by as are several good restaurants.

The units all have three bedrooms, three large baths, and a huge living/kitchen/dining area. We love the screened-in porches in every unit. Ask for a lake view. The units are very well equipped, with TVs and a DVD player and stereo in each room. It's clean and beautiful. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The only minor drawback is that there is no on-site restaurant, which they promised when we bought about 9 years ago. No problem-there are great restaurants all around. The two pools are very nice. Activities go on around the pool all summer. Great place!
