This hotel looks awesome from the outside but it is old and out dated. On the second night my husband noticed an object protruding from under the bed skirt in the bedroom. This was in one of the suites. Spoke to the manager and she said that items were "overlooked" by housekeeping staff and offered to refund ONE night of our stay. We checked out of the hotel and I will NEVER stay there again. Also, they don't have dvd players. The rooms have VCR's instead and the breakfast isn't a hot breakfast at all.

Please stay somewhere else, where guest security is not a joke, like it is in this hotel. The hotel is located in a HIGH CRIME area of Tampa. We checked in, and drove a mile down the street (Fletcher Ave) to a convience store. We were offered crack for sale in the parking lot. Then we spend one night in this Hampton Inn, and received a call from the front desk at 7:30am. Our truck, and 6 other cars in the Hampton parking lot, had been broken into. There were NO security cameras in the parking lot. We were offered NO apology whatsoever. They even made us pay our full rate for our rooms (we had reserved 2 rooms, with 2 cars travelling in my party, and BOTH cars were broken into). The hotel referred us to its insurance co, who then denied any liability for the hotel. We also found out that there is NO SECURITY ON THE PREMISES. This hotel hires an outside security company, just so they can claim they have it. We contacted this company and were told that they only patrol 5% of their time, and they have 30 other buildings to split that 5% between. So there is absolutely NO SECUIRITY at this hotel at all. Please do not stay here.

We went to visit our son at USF and The Hampton Inn was very convenient and right down the road. We stayed in a King suite. The price point was excellent. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The hotel in all areas was extremely clean.

Staff was helpful, room was clean, breakfast and amenities were very nice. Easy to find - located in a quiet neighborhood. We wanted to stay again one week later, but unfortunately the rate had increased

"Have stayed here several times when bringing students back to college. Suites are very large and comfortable for family of four.Employees went out of their way to make stay comfortable. Had evening reception with grilled metts, fresh vegetables, cheese & crackers during week. Large free breakfast. Free internet in room. "
