I had booked with a different hotel and found it to be unclean, when I called the Marriott, they helped me book my reservation for the next four nights and were even able to check me in early! The staff was super. When I needed service in my room they took care of it right away. Wonderful view!

Marriott Anchorage Downtown
Our room at the Marriott overlooks the parking lot across the street. It has a comfortable king bed, chair, and desk. The Internet is not wireless. You need to connect via a port and I didn't bring my wires. I'm sure that there would be a charge anyway and I'm too cheap for that. The sun is still up at 9pm and we use the blackout drapes to darken the room enough to sleep.
We arise at 6am. The sunlight streams in as the drapes are pulled aside. The sky never really went dark since this is the summer solstice. The farther north you get, the longer the days.
The shower is warm and strong enough to rinse the shampoo from your hair with ease. The soaps are herbal scented and not too feminine for Hubby to use. He hates it when everything smells like flowers.
We head down to the restaurant. They have a buffet breakfast where they will fix omelets for you. There is a limited menu of fillings, but enough that there is a choice. Mushroom and bacon go in mine. The eggs are cooked perfectly. I am so-o-o tired of runny scrambled eggs. Orange juice and coffee come with the buffet. Both are good. The juice is sweet and has just a little pulp while the coffee is strong enough to get me going.
By 8am we are on the motorcoach with Wade and Cathy guiding us on our way to Denali.
