A great place to stay!

I booked this hotel because I was going to the HP Pavilion and let me tell you I am not sorry one bit I chose to stay at this place! The inside is beautiful and clean and the rooms are very clean with very comfortable beds, a full size refridgerator, a microwave and a huge jacuzzi tub. We walked to the Pavilion and it took us about 5 minutes so we didn't have to pay for parking or a cab which was excellent. The girl who was working at the check in was very friendly and helpful. Many of the hotels/motels were much more money but I tell you I got a great room and excellent service for much less money. It was quiet and they also offered a full breakfast and taco's and salad bar at night that was free. I didn't eat any of the food but found it nice that it was offered. I will definitely stay at the Arena Hotel anytime I go to see an even in San Jose!
Not perfect, but good value

The bed was much more comfortable than at another 2 star hotel I tried the 1st night. I still used my own pillows, but I slept OK. The air conditioner had a service light on, that was fixed within about 10-20 minutes of my call. The room didn't feel dirty, but smelled a bit of air freshener or cleaning products. Nothing a day of the window being open didn't fix. I had a fan that worked well, but squeaked (so couldn't use while slept). The fridge worked well, but the compressor was noisy (so turned off at night). And AC worked OK, but could have been cooler. Jacuzzi tub was a neat freebee, but isn't as nice as a full size Jacuzzi (couldn't get the jets to hit my back and had to sit cross legged in it). Was kind of nice to be able to spin in the shower without hitting the walls accidentally (it is wider than a usual tub). Only had 1 meal and it was decent. Nothing super special, but had a few choices (soup + 2 kinds of lazagna + couple salads + desert). Not really much nearby as far as restaurants or shops. Nice part of that means there isn't a ton of traffic, but I did pass 2 papers about new bars opening soon (liquor license notices). And it is pretty close to just about any freeway you'd need in San Jose. All around I'd go back if I visited SJ again.

We stayed at this hotel because it was close to the airport. The rooms were clean and quite large. The grounds were well kept. We did not eat breakfast or dinner so can not comment. Would definately stay again.

Room had lots of space but was not very clean, was well used with open plaster repairs on the wall. Kitchen Appliances were old and in poor condition. No remote control in the room when checked in, and the replacement unit provided did not work properly. Air conditioner very noisy had someone come and look at it, they messed around and it got better but 10 minutes after the left it was back the same. Could not use it at night, and windows would not open (latches broken) and it was very hot - uncomfortable stay.
Maybe I was unlucky, the lobby / outside of the hotel seemed very clean and respectable.
Would not stay here again, also the online travel website price ended up being more than the "special" advertised price outside the hotel on the street. Bummer.
Nice Find

On a biz trip for a week. Didn't try the free breakfast but did do the dinner & it's plain but quite acceptable for being a plain offering. Salad, entree, jello/pudding & beverage, + cute but disinterested female kitchen staff. Free cookies in the lobby yum. Jacuzzi is a nice touch & appreciated. Bought some bath salt spa thing next door at the newly built big box drugstore & relaxed after a long day. Free wifi was speedy & room was clean-ish, carpet could use a good steam clean tho, room was quiet, microwave & fridge are a great touch. Wish there was a fitness facility tho.
