The desk staff were very accomodating with an early check-in and a delayed check-out forced by business commitments. The room was comfortable and clean - furnished with a microwave and mini-fridge. Good complimentrary breakfast. Would definitely stay again.

Great Hotel: great price, staff and stay

This hotel was very clean, the staff was very friendly, and the location was easy to access coming from both north and south Austin. We were looking to have a good time in the downtown area with out breaking the bank on a hotel. This was a great hotel and we couldn't really ask for much more for the price. The room was good sized, the bathroom was a bit small, but clean, and everything worked. I will definitely stay here again. The location was just past some sketchier parts of Austin, but the parking lot was well lit and they had security guards and cameras on the premises. My girlfriend and I felt safe the entire stay. They had a decent breakfast each morning with cereal, oatmeal, juices, milk, pastries, and a waffle maker which was great! Save yourself some money and stay here. You won't regret it.

Tried hard for a budget facility

This Super 8 was clean and rather Spartan. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast each morning could use some variety (some cream cheese for the bagels, for instance). The only drawback is that the area around this hotel has gone down terribly. Driving to the UT campus, I passed by a corner 2 blocks away where there were a large number of day-laborers congregated, looking for work and gesturing to passing cars. There was also a "lady of the evening" working on the street adjacent to the hotel. Both of these items are things I don't expect to see adjacent to my hotel. However, the location (a short drive from the UT campus) was ideal for my needs. And, the hotel provided free internet, which was important to me. I have had to pay ridiculous money for internet at other, much more expensive htoels. Last, the staff worked as hard as possible to make the stay positive and I do appreciate that.

Okay for the money

I did feel uneasy about safety and security outside - especially after I saw someone in the parking lot behind the hotel peering into car windows. It was difficult to find a parking spot in front, and the lot is really too small. The spaces are also very narrow. I had no issues inside the hotel, except that the window unit leaked when it rained.

UNSAFE!!!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

I do not recommend anyone stay at this hotel. I had to check out after one night because I felt unsafe. Lots of warning signs all over the place. First warning signs in parking lot saying not to leave anything in the car, then on the back of the room door saying to be sure door is locked, then list of warning on coffee table saying not to let anyone in, if they say the are an employee you should call from desk to confirm, do not show large sums of money, be careful with room keys, etc. I checked out first thing in the morning for fear of being mugged. Online travel website will not refund my money, even though it was for my own safety that I had to check out. In addition... room had horrible smell, bed and pillow were really lumpy... just really skeevy! Pay a little more to stay someplace else and be safe!!!
