Sheraton Towers New York is a big disappointment!!!

Travelled to NYC for a NYU graduation. Although the location was good, the room conditions were terrible. I booked 2 rooms. When I arrived, one smelled of mildew and the floor/carpet was wet. The desk clerk did not seem surprised or apologetic when we requested another room. The second room's floor was noticably filthy and the towles and linens in both rooms were cheap and old. Certainly not what I would have expected for a four star rated hotel. After a cross country flight, this was not a pleasent welcome. The other party travelling with me was moved down the hall from the room with the wet floor and nobody bothered to tell him it was a room where construction was going on in the rooms ajoining. There was constant drilling and noise early in the morning. On the second day, we left for the graduation at 10:00 am, we arrived back from the graduation at around 3:00 pm...our room had not been made up or the towles changed...however, someone did manage to stock the mini-bar which had nothing in it when we arrived. We then departed for dinner and arrived back at 12:00 Midnight. The room still had not been made up. When I phoned the desk clerk she said they would send someone right up...at 12:30 AM nobody had arrived. We made the bed ourselves and took some clean towles from an open laundry cart down the hall. Further, when I inquired about show tickets, the concierge and tour desk was only interested on what he could get "on the side", and not pay the hotel cost, or telling us to go to the box office where we would have better luck getting tickets. Overall this was one of the WORST experiences I have had in a Sheraton!

We went to see shows, concerts, and restaurants from this "new" (for us) hotel on 53rd St., at 7th Ave. It was convenient for some shows, and near some restaurants, but we didn't care for any of the restaurants in the hotel, itself.. Especially is this true of the 'breakfast' experience, for MUCH too expensive buffet breakfast meals, at more than $35.00 per person.. ! For that price, we have had some fabulous breakfasts in Las Vegas, but this was NO WHERE near that sort of extravagant meal.. limited selections, and none of them were tasty, and "special" in any way..! Altogether, this is a disappointment which we will NEVER try, again..

Would stay there again

The staff was warm and welcoming (even with our after hours check in). The room was a fair size and was clean and inviting. We could not have picked a better location for our agenda. The hotel was an excellent place to come home to. It was a true bargin and a find.

Starwood Preferred Guests STAY AWAY!!!

We travel every year to New York thru online travel website. Stay at different hotels each time!! This was the WORST!! I am a Travel Director with a major Tour Company and stay all over the World, usually at Starwood Properties! This property started from Check in telling me all I would NOT get because I booked with 3rd party....even though I paid the same price for hotel as when I priced it individually. They also put my handicapped mother and I in FARTHEST room from elevator- Even though I made sure they knew she was handicapped at check-in. Our room was never cleaned the entire week, the comforter was only thrown up over our bed with sheets left in ball at bottom of bed, towels changed, garbage never taken and we had to call to have coffee service.....serviced!! You could also never find the Bellman or Doorman, so if you are use to first class service, or should I say, service at all...you will not get it here! Stay so HORRIBLE I will probably never stay at a Sheraton Again or book any future clients there either!!! Spend you money elsewhere, there are much better properties in New York. P.S online travel website was no help either when we encountered problems on trip, too bad....lost loyal clients forever!!!
