Horrible experience

This was the worst hotel stay I have ever had in New York and I am here a mimimum 10 days per month. I arrived in my room to be greeted by the smell of smoke in this "smoke free" hotel. After informing the front desk, I was told there was nothing that could be done, but they may be able to move me to another room in a couple of days. I visited the drug store a block away and got some Febreeze and opened the window to air out the room. Upon my return, I attempted to adjust the temperature controls, which were broken. I was able to adjust the "fan" speed on the wall unit, but not the temperature itself. Two days later I was provided with a fan, and in the meantime was miserable. Even with the fan, it was still hot enough in the room that I had a great deal of trouble sleeping throughout the stay. Eventually, a call was placed to the manager, who assured me an engineer would be up to take a look at the AC unit promptly...I never saw him. The manager apologized profusely and informed me that he would clear the room service bill to date (not even the equivalent of one night's cost of a six night stay) and upon preparing to check out, found that this was not done either. Customer service was not in the vocabulary. Repeated commitments were made and never followed through with. There are much better hotels in the area at comparable prices. I have stayed at the Hampton Inn, the Doubletree...and even the Ritz at Battery Park had comparable pricing, none of which I have ever had such issues with. Do yourself a favor and explore your options.

I stayed there with my son. The room was clean, the staff was helpful and the location was terrific. Times Square was close and Subway station was right outside the Hotel. I would stay here again on a trip to the Big Apple.

The room was tiny but very clean. New linens. Big TV. The bathroom needs an update but again, was very clean and well stocked. You can't beat the location and the staff was friendly and helpful. We were given a late check out. Only negative was having to pay $3 a bag to store it until our flight Sun night. Am staying here again in August.

The hotel is in a good location which is close to many places to eat. Times Square is a few blocks away and is within walking distance. The double decker tour bus location is just 1/2 block away.
Rooms are very small. Smallest I have stayed in out of my 6 visits. The room did not have adequate drawer space for clothes if you had more than one person staying in the room (only had two drawers).
Customer service was great. Had two rooms and wanted to change one of them due to it smelling damp. They changed it immediately and placed our rooms close together as requested. All staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

We couldn't have asked for anything more. Our hotel was top notch and the plane was all that we could have wanted. I needed a wheel chair and they called ahead and had one waiting when we changed planes. The hotel was in a great location and was clean and they were always nice to help us in any way. We would sure use the online travel website again.
