TERRIBLE SERVICE... NEVER AGAIN. TRAVELERS BEWARE!

The hotel itself its okay. However, the staff and customer service of the facility is completely inadequate. When we checked into the hotel the front desk clerk was not familiar with the hotel itself (even thou we were told the clerk had worked there for 3 years). We had simple questions as to the shuttle service and the restaurants of the facility. Of course, she was not able to answer any of our questions, instead she referred us to Guest Services, which was not open at the time. When we attempted to get a hold of Guest Services the next day, we were placed on hold by the front office or when we were transfered to them, there was no answer. This happened at least 5 times. Also, we made the mistake of purchasing tickets from the hotel to a dinner show, they of course misinformed us of the starting time and because of that we missed the first 30 mins of the show. When we complained to the Hotel manager that night, he was very rude to us, did not offer any apologies, blamed Guest Services for all of the "confusion" and furthermore asked us if we had requested a copy of the contract between the hotel and guest services, which of course, according to him they were two different entities and had no relations with the hotel itself. Go figure! We had at least 4 other occasion in which the staff was very rude and did not offer any assistance. MOST IMPORTANTLY, IF YOUR A MARRIED WOMAN NOT TRAVELING WITH YOUR HUSBAND BE PREPARED TO ANSWER QUESTIONS FROM THE HOTEL STAFF AS TO HIS WEAR ABOUTS & IF IN FACT HE PAID FOR THE TRIP. SO SIMPLY BE PREPARED TO BE OFFENDED!

Front desk was nice enough. As soon as we arrived to our room I noticed "bang" the stained chair as we walked in. The first flush of our toliet brought on a wave of dirty water from the toliet all over the bathroom floor on onto the carpet in our room. We immediately called maintance who arrived soon enough to fix the problem. I went to the front desk to ask about a new room as the carpet was all wet (with dirty toilet water) and they acted like I was crazy for wanting a new room! I eventually "won", but they did nothing about helping us launder our soiled and wet clothes that were on the floor in the carpeted area. Ended up putting them in a plastic bag and keeping them there the rest of the trip. Our new room had dirty socks rolled up under one of the beds. The refrigerator had a old half gallon of milk and dirty bowls and spoons inside it left from the previous guests. The beds are comfortable, but the sofa bed was one of the worst night sleeps I've had in a long time. Ended up sharing the beds with the kids. Overall the stay was pleasant enough, but the housekeeping was horrible.

Flexible check in (2pm) and check out (1pm), all you have to do is ask. Front desk folks were extremely friendly 4 year old LOVED the pool, and water slide. Kids playground and kiddie pool was a plus for him. Lots of other children around. Parents LOVED the pool side bar. Food from pool bar was below average, but who cares. Very close to Disney. One exit from EXCELLENT resturaunt choices. I reccomend Tequilla's for the best Tex-Mex food this side of the Mississippi.

Hotel Okay, 1 Bedroom Needed Improvement

I had high hopes based on other reviews, but the hotel is a mix of good and bad. Bad in the guestroom, rest of the resort is OK. We had a 1 bedroom, non smoking. When we arrived, it had been "cleaned" but it was still dirty. As soon as I opened the door, the soiled, spotted biege armchair caught my eyes. The bathroom tiles and floor, had mold in the grout. There was a big white spot that looked like toothpaste or shaving cream on an ottoman. The chrome fixtures were drab grey. I called downstairs and asked to be moved, the girl said the hotel was booked (Easter/spring Break.) The next morning I appoached a manager and he sent the director of housekeeping to do a VIP clean. (Do you need to be a VIP to get regular cleaning?) The room did look better for the rest of the week, but still not as good as Disney or Marriott hotels that we stayed in before. Positive side, Easter Buffet was very good, there is a free shuttle to Disney, the lobby is nice, fast room service. There is a charge to use the business center or the internet. The double beds were comfortable, but the sleeper sofa was awful. Not much support, you just roll to the middle and feel wires all night. After one night, we were back to sleeping with the kids. Maybe if you get one of the 2 bedroom villas you may fair better, but I believe they need to refurbish some of the older rooms. Not very "Royale."

Good Location

The hotel is very convenient to the Disney parks and other popular Orlando destinations. For a suite hotel, the rooms were on the small side with little space for a family to unpack their bags but the beds were very comfortable. Of course it was very annoying in this day and age to have to pay for internet access but this policy seems to be the norm for the Orlando area. We stayed away from the onsite restaurants besides the Calypso Bar poolside, which at least served good food at somewhat reasonable prices for Orlando. The pool was a big hit with the family, the only annoying part being the fact that the staff does not allow anyone to move any of the chairs or chaise lounges, so if things are crowded, you may not have any space to breathe. There is a convention center associated with this hotel so depending on what is booked there at any given time it could fill up the parking lot.
