The room was filthy. There were sunflower seed hulls all over the floor, ants in the bathroom, and we even found beetles in the sheets.
The bathroom had urine splashes on the side of the tub, and the baseboards were disgusting with dirt.
We arrived late the first night, so had no other accommodations, but I was on the phone before 8:00 a.m. the next morning. Luckily we did find another room for the 2nd night.
The desk employee was very helpful and kind, but we checked out because I could not stand to spend another hour there.

Our room was very spacious and clean, which was nice since we did not get there until 1:00am. After 11pm you have to ring a bell to wake up the guy on duty and let you in, he was not very friendly buy also not rude, just probably wanted to sleep and was much more perky in the morning. WOULD GO BACK!

Rooms are large and clean. By large, I mean really big. Got a 2 queen suite (same price as single, 2nd bed is great for tossing suitcases on), it was clean, had a seperate area with a couch & another tv. Room was non smoking, even though it's not listed as such under room options.
Counter in the bathroom is huge, made girlfriend very happy. Breakfast is good, pastries, cereal, you-make-it waffles, fruit, coffee and juice. Microwave is potent, choose your power setting wisely. I didn't the first time and boiled a pastry within 5 seconds; the fruit center did a very credible Vesuvius imitation.
Negative: wireless is not secured, so I only used it for checking out area attractions, Mapquest, etc. Nothing that required a log in, like my email. Wireless signals showed ok strength, but had trouble hooking up to DaysInn1, but hooked up to DaysInn2 without problem.

Outstanding owner and staff.
Whirlpool suite really is three rooms - with jumbo bathroom, double sinks, large counter, seperate shower.
Powerful a/c overcam the 100 humidity. Fridge, microwave, and bar sink in living room much appreciated.
Off the main drag, but good access to TX wine country. and very, very quite on the 2nd floor.
Heck, this place made my wife happy!

We had a great stay in the 2 queen suite. Loved the seperate sitting area and the 2 TV's. The rooms were nice, clean and spacious. Nice break fast and helpful staff. Will recomed to a friend.
