What a DUMP!!!

I have stayed in hundreds of hotels, I travel for my job, and this is far and away the WORST hotel I have ever stayed in. It was old, moldy, smelly and filthy!! We had to stay in a smoking room, even though we had a "confirmed" reservation for a non-smoking room. The room stunk and the windows were covered with cigarette smoke film. There were roaches in the hall ways. How this dump keeps a flag is a testment to the ineptitude of the Choice Hotel system. Even free it would be a bad deal!!
Hotel needs work

Although this hotel has a great location - it needs work - I had to work on the toilet in the middle of the night - the outside door was rusted and would not seal - on leaving the coffee in the lobby was out at 8 AM.
The front desk at check in was very helpful and the room was clean - I got what I paid for - I would come back for only a short stay ( one or two days ).
No Business Travelers

Do not stay here if you are needing to make sure you have wireless internet and business center, because the staff is not helpful and they don't try to make sure that the internet works when you ask. The rooms were disgusting with mold on the ceilings and in the bathrooms. Overall the cost of the hotel room was way over priced. I have even complained to corporate office and they just send you a letter saying that they apologize, but nothing to compensate for the bad service and hotel room.
Could Have Been Better

The view from the room was spectacular and the breakfast was very good. The amenities could have been better. We stayed for five days and the entire time the ice machine on our floor was broken. After two days, the machine on the next floor was out of ice, so we had to go up four floors to get ice. Only two of the seven or so games in the game room were working. In the fitness room, there are three pieces of equipment, and one of them was not fully functioning. Add to that, one day when our room was cleaned we received no fresh towels and there was no ice bucket in our room at all. The listing says there is a hot tub when there really is not. Two of the pictures in the photo listing are not of this hotel. There is no restaurant within the hotel as depicted in the photo with the white linen. The phot with the hot tub in the corner also must be of a different hotel...now that I'm writing all this down, I'm surprised I enjoyed myself as much as I did. I guess the beautiful views and the beach really make up for all the shortcomings of this hotel.
