Quite Adequate

The hotel was a good value. The room was comfortable, and everything worked except for the bulb in one lamp. The staff that I interacted with were friendly and competent. My only complaint was that the hotel failed to offer any breakfast. This seems to be true of all Holiday Inns except for Holiday Inn Express. I fail to understand the chain's reasoning, since hardly anyone wants a restaurant breakfast anymore, and virtually all of their competitors offer at least a free "continental" breakfast.

Older property but kept up.

This is an older hotel, but the rooms and furnishings have been well maintained and is a great value for business travelers. Stayed here for 4 nights. Rooms are quiet (and highway road noise bothers me, so I am particular on this). Beds are in good shape and do not sag. I would have preferred a firm pillow mixed in the bunch as all three were fluffy, but a mega-store is close by so I bought one and used a bath towel for pillow case. I missed having a mini-fridge in the room. I would definitely stay here again. It is convenient to I-95 without being on the exit ramp, and it is about 15 to 20 minutes to Richmond Airport, and is an easy drive with gas stations to fill up the rental car before return.

Doesn't look like much, but a good stay

I stayed at this hotel while on a trip to King's Dominion. The hotel did not look like much from the outside but I was pleasantly surprised on the inside. The room in the first building appeared to have been recently redone. The room had a large comfortable king size bed with four fluffy pillows, and a pillow menu just in case we wanted other pillows. The room also had a large leather chair, and a desk with a leather desk chair. The tv had about 60 channels, way more than you normally see in a hotel. The carpet in the room looked brand new. My only compliants about the room were in the bathroom. The shower is small and lacks storage. The shower head looked old but still provided good pressure. When showering in the morning I found it was difficult to maintain a hot temperature, and ended up taking a cold shower. The towels at this hotel were also very rough. The room had two bathroom vanities, one inside and outside the bathroom, but lacked counter space. For what I paid $56, this was a nice hotel. I would stay at this hotel again, but only for a short trip due to lack of storage space.

No surprises

Very clean and the desk staff was really great! It's a Holiday Inn, just what I expected, no disappointment.
