The Suites of 800 Locust is an amazing hotel in the heart of downtown Des Moines. The rooms are super comfortable (the best bed and pillows I've ever found in a hotel) and clean. Staff is very helpful. Downfall is definitely price. Usually I can ...

The Suites of 800 Locust is an amazing hotel in the heart of downtown Des Moines. The rooms are super comfortable (the best bed and pillows I've ever found in a hotel) and clean. Staff is very helpful. Downfall is definitely price. Usually I can only book this hotel last minute to get a good enough deal so I can afford it. I try every time though, because I know this hotel is amazing. Another downfall is noise - the downtown street noise at night kept me awake the first time I stayed (my window faced the street). An interior room is best to cut down on noise.
