Decent, typical Holiday Inn

The front desk staff is extremely professional and friendly. Housekeeping service was not efficient. I would return to a room inthe early afternoon that had not been cleaned. The restaurant breakfast service was freindly but inefficient. Breakfast took a long time and was brought to the table barely warm - not hte best was to serve either coffee or eggs.

Great Hotel for Families Going to Colorado on Vacation

THis property is within walking distance to downtown activities, the Durango Silverton railroad, and has an Appleby's on property for good food at reasonable prices. In fact, they offered us "kids eat free" at Appleby's which was a great value. It's exactly as advertised and a great option for those traveling through Southern Colorado. Rooms are standard HI but just a good value overall. Very clean and good staff.

Outdated Unmaintained Hotel

I stayed two nights at this hotel as part of a group tour. This hotel is extremely outdated and has not been maintained. The beds were uncomfortable. In short this place bore no resemblance to the way it was advertised. Many of the advertised amentieis either did not exist or were broken. I would never stay there again.

One of the worst hotels ever

Made our reservation several months in advance. Our room was old, TV outdated, the heater was not working and the king size bed sagged so bad that I couldn't sleep the first night. Next morning requested another room and after I came back from the train ride to Cascade the clerk that I spoke in the morning was gone and the one at the front desk didn't know anything about my request. After discussing the situation with her she finally call the manager (which was off on weekends) and he suggested that since they were full to give us a suite. That didn't happen, instead we got another room with a bed almost as bad. At least the heater worked on this room. The staff was rude and impolite to say the least, and the manager never reply to an email I sent him. I will never stay at this hotel again and I will probably stay away from Holiday Inn whenever possible. I am sure there are better choices in Durango than this Holiday Inn.

Spring Break Getaway

We wanted to take a spring break vaction and the Holiday Inn in Durango was perfect! It was an excellent value and in a fantastic location. We could see the mountains right out our front door and the Animas River which runs right by the hotel was really cool! All of Durango's best resturants and entertainment areas were a short walk from the hotel's downtown location. There is an Applebee's in the hotel, but I would recommend making the short walk to the local places. I highly recommend Gazapacho's, Tequilas, and Farquarts Pizza. Also, there is a little drive-up coffee stand across from the hotel and its fantastic. Much better then the free coffee provided in the lobby! The room was really clean and serviced everyday of our trip. The pool, hot tub, and sauna area was really nice after a long day of skiing! The only negative I had was the comfort of the bed, but for the money, this is the place to stay in Durango!
