A pleasant stay for the price!

My boyfriend and I were looking to move up to Asheville, so we went to check it out and stayed at the Super 8. We honestly thought that it would be worse than it turned out to be and we were pleasantly surprised. Although there were a lot of renovations taking place when we stayed, and the drilling began promptly around 8am, we are both pretty heavy sleepers so we didn't notice it too much. For the price, you can't beat it. Right off of the highway, next to several restaurants, and very close to the grocery store. A quick ride to downtown as well, which was a plus. I was a bit concerned with the location, as I was told by my dad to stay away from West Asheville, but it really wasn't too bad. The staircases smelled like cigarettes, but it really wasn't enough to ruin our stay. Staff was friendly and helpful when we asked for directions, and when we needed some extra towels. We had a late check-in and the man at the front desk was very accommodating. They have a computer in the lobby which is available to use, and we found it very helpful for looking up directions, movie times, etc. Hotel room was spotless when we arrived and housekeeping was very good as well. Oh yes, and I can't forget to mention the huge television in the room! We don't watch a lot of tv, but we brought a portable dvd player and hooked it up to watch movies. Conveniently, there is a small fridge and microwave in the room, and chain locks on the doors. Overall, aside from renovations creating a lot of noise, our stay here was very nice and we would be happy to stay here again! Thanks!

They are installing 27 inch plasma tv's in all the rooms. I haven't seen that in more upscale properties, they really know what the customer wants. Breakfast is not necessary, but a plasma tv, Great!!
