Wyland's Great!

When my girlfriend and I booked our stay at the Wyland, we only had pictures to look at to really get a sense of the hotel. Just from the pictures we thought it looked great, but then when we got there it was amazing! The hotel is based on a local marine artist, so there's original art works everywhere you look, giving a very distinct, but fitting, atmosphere for a hotel in Waikiki. The hotel staff was excellent; everyone we spoke with was very kind, polite, and sincere. There were times where it seemed like everyone wanted to help us have the best time that we could. House-keeping was very thorough and dilligent, we never once had to worry about clean towels. The in-hotel cafe was great, they make some of the best smoothies I've tasted, and the in-hotel restaurant, Spada, was delicious! I would stay here again and highly recommend it!

This hotel is immaculate. Everyone is hospitable and helpful. The hotel is very close (walkable) to all the great clubs and shopping along the main strips.
I am planning on staying there again!

Hotel was very nice, although, security came to our door, because we had the PRIVACY note on the door for 3 days....duh it is our honeymoon. I had asked for toilet paper to be brought to our room, and the housekeeping knocked once, then just let herself in, my husband and I were not completely dressed, so I asked her to please leave and she just kind of stood there. Sites were good, and very fun, must go to Diamond Head!!!! What a hike, but fun! Also,, go eat at Ruth Chris Steak House-expensive but very well worth it!!!
Just avoid the restaurant!

The Wyland was wonderful: great location, beautifully appointed, perhaps the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in in my life, friendly staff, a warm salt-water pool in addition to a regular pool, etc. I'd go back in a heartbeat.
BUT the attached restaurant, Spada, was so bad that I wrote a note on my charge slip to say that we would NOT be coming back. The food was OK, I guess, but the place is so mismanaged that it doesn't even seem to function like a restaurant. Individual dinners came out in some random order and then some were hot and some were not even cooked through. It took forever to get a glass of water and we never got the bread we asked for 6 times. The waiter (who took us aside later to apologize about the management!) had not been told what the restaurant was out of, so we didn't know we couldn't get one dish until 30 minutes after we had ordered it. Etc., etc., etc.

great hotel. clean, good value. Nicely updated. Good service. Great location. Pool was nice, though didn't end up being in the sun very much. I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel.
