The outside landscaping and general visual appeal was very attractive. However, we were very disappointed in our unit. It was roomy, with a nice floorplan, but the furnishings were awful. The couch and chair in the living room were very uncomfortable, and the bed was one of most uncomfortable we had ever had in any accommodation, including motels, so there was not even a "comfy" place to enjoy TV or a movie. Most of the furnishings were cheap and not what we expected in a gold crown unit. While we enjoyed the Scottsdale area, we avoided spending time at the resort, because we really had nowhere to relax in our unit. Other than the pool and some organized games and crafts activities, there was not much to do at the resort.

We loved the Scottsdale/Phoenix area. Lots of good day trips to take, and if you enjoy natural beauty, the Sonoran desert, with the fabulous Saguaro cacti, is fantastic. But stay in different accommodations.

The studio was separated from another unit by a single locked door with a 1" gap in the bottom. You could hear every word the neighbors said plus light was getting through at night a lot.

For the square footage, the unit could have been better equipped. Drawers and balcony screen door were hard to slide.

There was no washer & dryer in the unit, only two of each available at the activity center for $1 each! We've never had to pay for laundry at a resort before.

To use all resort amenities, you will need a $1 card per unit. Not expensive but unpleasant. Also, right at checkin, concierge tried very hard to pitch us the resort tour and did not want to take a 'no' for an answer. Since we bought our timeshare, never did we have to listen to a sales pitch for so long. They still called the next day to try again but that person at least understood what 'no' means.

We also noticed that the resort cared little about saving water, being in the desert. Also, parking is limited and at times you will have to park quite away from you unit.

With all the things listed above, I am really not sure why this is a crown resort.
