The hotel is fairly well located, close to the village. Things are spread out here and I would highly recommend people come in a car (preferably 4x4). It would be a very long walk to the park reserve.
Rooms are basic but nice and do have nice windows that look over the property, which for some reason I expected to be bigger. There are manicured gardens in the back which provide a nice place to walk or sit. The bathroom is also basic but functional and had a bathtub.
There is a fairly nice hot tub off the lobby, but having stayed at Tabacon Hot Springs the night before, this felt rather cold.
The restaurant was deserted while we were there but did look fairly nice. It is a set menu however, costs over $20 for dinner, and offers very little selection.
Monteverde is a very trendy little town, and having explored the village there seem to be very high quality accommodations scattered around the area. If you are looking for a more personal hotel (and most people who travel to Costa Rica are) then I would recommend looking elsewhere.
