Description: Nestled away from the hustle and bustle of downtown lies a nice find in Denver hotels. In town for a short weekend, we were looking for a nice hotel out of business of the downtown and touristy areas of the city while not compromising on value or quality. We were lucky enough to stumble upon the Hyatt Regency Tech Center, approximately ten miles from downtown but an impressive hotel in terms of service and amenities.
We arrived late and expected to have problems with our reservation which had unfortunately not been secured with a credit card, mistake number one. However, the desk staff was more than courteous and even offered to upgrade our room for us at no cost for the inconvenience that we had experienced in our day long drive into Denver. Truly amazing to me that the staff was willing to play off our misfortune into making us feel at home.
After settling in, we found that the hotel room, which was on the ground floor, had both inside and outside entrances which made it incredibly convenient to park and unload the car at the door without having to disturb our hotel neighbors, especially since we were travelling with our puppy (Hyatt is also a pet friendly hotel, which was nice and there is no additional charge for a small dog or cat).
The room itself was nicely furnished. A feather comforter on the bed and high speed internet ports at the desk would be a welcome addition for any business traveller and the faux marble flooring and added decoration of the bathroom would make even the most weary of travelers feel at home.
The second night of our stay, a quick trip to the front desk to retrieve fresh towels brought with it another surprise. The same desk clerk who had checked us in the previous night, remembering our travel misfortune, offered free drink coupons for the bar and pointed us on our way.
Overall, the Hyatt Tech Center was a great place to stay at a fabulous value ($59/night). The staff truly seem to care about their guests and made us feel very much pampered while we were there.
