Very average condo

GOOD: Our condo was very clean and we had a nice view of the ocean. It was a gated community and we felt safe. Staff was friendly.
BAD: Our condo was was old and dated. Dishes and silverware were old and looked dirty. Dishwasher was rusted. We had many geckos (well, it is Hawaii) and ants. The pool closed at the early hour of 6pm. The restaurant was closed due to a change of ownership. Beach towels were not always available.

Very good base for the family as it moves from all the various locations on the Big Island. Multiple snorkling locations near by and a lot of local shopping (i.e. Walmart) that allows you to save money. Concierge was very helpful. The rest of the staff is pretty hands off. If you are looking for sandy beaches, probably need to look more north. If you are looking for a lot of space for a family that you can call home for a few weeks, this is your place.

The overall hotel is a 3+ star experience. The food is OK, but the buffet is ALWAYS COLD. The room air cond.is either freezing or stuffy. There is no HBO. The snack shop next to the beach will not let you charge to the room. The snorkeling beach is amazing. The pool is small but clean; there is a large green grassy area with lounge chairs looking over the ocean. The Green Sea Turtles are EVERYWHERE? The location is great. Hint: Wal-Mart, Kona great prices on souvenirs, less than half of that in the village!

The condo was huge, comfortable and not outdated at all. We loved the deck and fabulous bay/ocean views. Great location near Kailua-Kona; easy to get lots of places from here. Several good restaurants are within just a few minutes. Easy drive to the volcano and numerous beaches.
