Check in was quick and painless, even though we had requested a room with air conditioning and there were none available. It was difficult to find the condo as there were absolutely no street lights to see the addresses, and the pathways leading up to the doors had no lighting whatsoever. To compound this, the foliage was completely overgrowing the paths, making maneuvering luggage very difficult in the dark.
The first condo we looked at had no working lights in the hall way leading between the bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen. The living room had wicker furniture that was grey and sticky where many people had put their hands (armrests). The phone was grey and sticky. The stove was older, had burn marks, grease in the tray that held the knobs, and a broken burner knob that made it difficult to turn off the burner. Water leaked from under the refrigerator. In the bedroom, the bedsheets held dead moths. In the bathroom, there was a HUGE COCKROACH in the tub. Thankfully, he was dead. There was a notice from the condo owner saying he was trying to sell his condo and that a Realtor may show the condo while we were there.
The front desk let us look at two more condos, ones that had supposedly just been released from Housekeeping and freshly cleaned. The first had a smaller cockroach, very much alive, running around in the tub, and a layer of grime on the mirrors. There were finger marks in the mirrors, where people had run their fingers through.
The third had dust and grime all over the shelves, decor, and mirrors. The door to the lanai didn't lock.
We left after one night, even though we were supposed to stay a week.
FRONT DESK DIDN'T DO A THING!!!

Had a 2 bed 2 bath w/fairway view. Very clean and re modeled. Good location off the beaten track but close enough when we needed something. Friendly staff and restaurant was simple but good cooking, no dinner hours tho and the restaurant has a great view for sunsets, its just not open at that time. "Activities Director" just pushed time share and the big discount if we'd go to her luncheon, prices on activities from some of the places in town were just as good. But we will definitely choose to stay here again.

These condos are older than the online pictures make them look. Most don't even have air conditioning and the ones that do charge you an extra 15$ per night for AC. Also 14$ per night extra for internet access. If you are going to a beach, you better have a car, because there is no beach here. We checked out 3 days early because we could not get connected to the web. And I have been in IT for 15 years.

We went for our 31st Anniverary with my sister & her husband who have stayed at these Condos several time.
There are about 150 units in 2 & 3 story buildings (4 & 6 units respectively), located about 10 miles south of Kona. The Condos that are right on the water of coarse cost more (no beach) but our unit was towards the back on the south side next to a little bay and we liked our view better anyway. On the North side is the Kona Country Club golf coarse. There is an onsite Restaraunt, 3 pools and 2 tennis courts. The landscaping is very nice and well maintained.
The one thing about Condos of coarse is since they are owned by individuals some units have been remodeled more recently then others, ( the property was built in the 70's) thou our unit was not one of the more recent ones it was nice and well kept.
If we, NO, WHEN we go back to the "BI" we will be staying here.

One of the best condos in the Keauhou area.

We had a beautifully furnished condo overlooking the ocean and pool. It was spacious and clean with maid service. The first two condos we were shown were not up to our expectations, but the reservation hostess finally gave us a really nice one. It also helped that there was a low occupancy level this year of "staycations." The Keauhou area is the sunniest area near central Kona town, and only a mile from our favorite snorkeling beach, Kahalu'u, with its turtles. The resident restaurant went out of business so you have to go outside to the Keauhou shopping center nearby or to town if you want to eat out. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and the area quiet except from the usual noises from the children pool areas.
