DC Marriott Meto Center

We've stayed at many different Marriotts in the past. We were always about 100% satisfied. I'm not so sure I can honestly say that about this one. It took a couple of days to figure out the hot water runs out by 9am. In the second room the hot/cold water settings for the bath/shower was reversed so we took cold showers again until we figured that out. Having no hot water after 9am seems to have been the norm there...so more cold showers. No shower caps....no decaffinated coffee or Tea in the room. We were moved into another room after 3 days of our stay since the AC in our first room wasn't working and wires were smoking. The daily paper seemed to have been in front of all doors except ours. Would I stay there again...probably not. Would I tell Friends to stay there...most likely not. The positive about this hotel was the location. The metro stop is rigth by it. Great Metro connection between Ronald Reagan Airport and Hotel.

We had a great time. The hotel was very clean and the staff was friendly. The restaurant in the hotel was quite pricey, but being in DC, it was to be expected. Tips: Sushi AOI was awesome place to eat. The staff there rocked. Capital City Brewing Co - great sports bar one block away. Great kids menu. Matchbox was several blocks, great walk, very neat restaurant.

Very happy with everything about this hotel. It was friendly for our 10 year old, meals were reasonable, and there was a washing machine. It was also right on the route for the Metro.

Marriott Metro Center Is One of Washington DC's Best Hotels

Conveniently located near the Metro Center metro station, the Marriott Metro Center is nicely situated near Ford's Theater, the White House and the National Mall. The hotel itself is well-appointed and maintained, with large, comfortable guest rooms. There is a Starbucks in the lobby, as well as a restaurant. The hotel has a pool, which is not stadard fare in DC. We found the service and housekeeping to be excellent and the overall hotel quality is among the very best that we've encountered in Washington. This is a non-smoking hotel, which is also not standard in DC. Internet service is excellent, but it is an extra charge through a third party vendor.

We rate this as one of Washington DC's best hotels, based on many visits using various hotels.

I wrote the below review. I stand by most of what I said. But last week, after emailing Marriott corp offices about this location, I recieved a call. I've still not heard from the General Manager of this location, however, her executive assistant did call. She was VERY nice and she apologized 100 times for all that went wrong. She varified the things that did go wrong, such as the noise, and testing the back up generators at night which caused the smoke at midnight. She told me that they have had several meetings about these issues. And they are being addressed. So to be fair, I have to say, they did contact me, they did or were addressing the issues. Most of all, they refunded my ENTIRE stay. Everything. Parking, the works. So. That being said. I am willing to give them another try. I think all of you can as well, but, remember, if something goes wrong, tell them. Keep on it. I still don't think this hotel is worth retail of 459. But time will tell. I just felt it appropriate to follow up and give them a fair shake. So judge for yourself. :)
