Peaceful Landmark of Door County

  • June 26, 2009
  • Rated 5 of 5 by a traveler from Travelocity.com
Found the resort set apart from the hustle and bustle. You can have the best of both worlds in this Door County Setting. Beautiful Views on the Water side and cool breezes from the woods side. Nice size pools and game room for the kids (and steam, whirlpool) for the adults. Good restaurant and bar with lovely deck on the grounds...walking distance from any of the 3 units. Our 1 bedroom apartment was totally furnished to cook up a storm if desired. Adequate room, bedding to use the pull out sofa. Private bedroom..little deck, NICE! Good Location to get all the way to the tip of the Peninsula within 20 minustes...actually walking/biking distance to the town itself. Interesting that there are "condos" for sale. At some time, we may be interested. I am a realtor myself.

Landmark Resort

Best Things Nearby:
It is the beginning of a series of small towns that are filled with unique shops and restaurants, not to mention the fantastic views along the way of Green Bay and Lake Michigan.

Best Things About the Resort:
It is located on acres of natural beauty, overlooking the beautiful waters of Green Bay and offering only nonsmoking suites. The sunsets were a sight to behold! There was a Jacuzzi in each building and a wonderful large outdoor pool close by.

Resort Experience:
The unit we stayed in was a small one-bedroom unit. Our unit faced the woods and was very dark due to being "under the trees."

The smallest room was the bedroom, as there was only room for the bed and two very small cupboards on each side of the bed that were supposed to be the closets. I believe the bathroom was almost as large!

Even though the kitchen was small, it did have a full-size dish washer, a mini-microwave, an apartment-size stove, and a full-size refrigerator. It was pretty well stocked with utensils, so we were able to cook a couple of good-size meals. We did take advantage of the outdoor grills that are generously spaced throughout the grounds.

The living/dining room was a nice area, with a sofa bed, two comfortable chairs, coffee table, dining table with four chairs, and a 25-inch TV. The cabinet under the TV was very nice for storing articles for the two people who slept on the sofa bed.

The deck was also small and not too useable. Even though this unit seemed very small, it was well maintained and clean. We did have three things that needed fixing, and within a half-hour, they were there and fixed them.

We enjoyed the outdoors the most during our stay at the Landmark. The pools are fantastic and kept very clean.

The lobby areas of each building are very comfortable, with a large fireplace and comfy furniture. They also had wireless computer connections in each lobby.

I would definitely return to Landmark, as it was a very well-kept and friendly resort.
