Motel 6 would be better!!!

I called three weeks in advance to make sure they would have a room to my satisfaction non-smoking, two beds, early check in and help with my bags. Plus with the warning of construction I would not be placed any where near the construction nor be disturbed by it. I was placed right at the high light of the construction with the over flowing dumpster outside the window view. No help with the bags until I had two of the three in the door. I requested a non-smoking room and they gave me an old stagnate stale smelling room that caused both of us to have are asthma flare up. I had to ask for towels and wipe down the bathroom counter as there was hair all over the counter corners. While using the bath for my three year old grandson the ceiling started dripping down upon us. I checked out in the rain and the front desk would not give me a receipt of my stay that I was leaving two days early. As they put it we are paid by online travel website and you will have to deal with them. I have never stayed in an establishment with such rude people at the front desk. I thought when it said Ramada it was class. This Columbia Fort Jackson Area on 7510 Two Notch Rd. Columbia Sc.29223 is best left to find a Motel 6. I found a Comfort Inn next door for less the price and more smiles and helping hands then any place I ever stayed at. They even had a free breakfast bar.

The stay was wonderful

I stay at this Hotel every year in January, this last stay was definitely a better experience than in the past. The staff was extremely helpful, especially Ms. xyz, she is supberb. My room was exceptional, my kids had a great time swimming in the indoor pool, I will definetly be staying here again.

should change the name of this cesspool

This place looks good online, but once you arrive you know that you've been had. This place must have looked nice 25 years ago but there have been no improvements since then. The basic features that you expect for a hotel do not exisit - none of the exterior door locks work, the place is not clean, and the service is terrible, and everything is dark, dank, and dingy. The actual "guest" room was even worse. I was even afraid to walk in my room in my bare feet. My sheets were nasty, the room had cob webs and dust, not to mention an obvious mold problem judging on the smell, and my phone did not even work so that I could complain. i willnot even attempt to describe the bathroom. NASTY. To say the least I decided to check out early and will never go back. I have never seen a ramada in such a poor state of disrepair. Of course when I checked out I complained about all my problems and, you know it, I got NADA. I feel that the owners of this so called "hotel" should have paid me for staying there.

Lobby was lovely - pass that and I thought I was in a horror movie. Reservations were in wrong name. Booked a smoking room, got a non-smoking. Although, the website stated "some areas are under contruction", I was not prepared for half painted walls, trash in the halls. Paint fumes were overpowering! Blanket in room was torn. Saw no security. My dog has stayed in nicer places!
