wonderful staff and experience

while the hotel is a bit dated in the rooms we had a wonderful experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The free breakfast was amazing! Waffles, sausage and eggs daily, as well as the usual free breakfast items. The swimming pool was great for the kids as well as the mini golf. I would say our one complaint was the floors were very filthy in the room, our feet were always black, but trust me on top of everything else that didnt matter to us. Late at night we had no internet so they clerk was trying to see if there was a problem on his end, he had no problems doing that.. Then we let him know it was all me.. He was so kind, got us a cot for the kids at 10 at night and delivered it with a smile. All the cleaning staff was so nice an personable and would talk to my kids by name, that really made my kids happy. We will definatly stay here the next time we are in tucson! Close to wal-mart and many resturants it was just great!

Good Basic Motel

This is a good motel. It's not fancy but it covers the basics (a place to sleep and bathe) for a reasonable price. The bed was comfortable (except for the mushy pillows). The staff was unfailingly courteous, helpful and would go out of their way to help - great service. The entire property was kept clean and well tended. It is a great location for getting around Tucson.

Terrible facility

When we arrived, we were booked into a one-bed room for three adults!  They couldn't find a two-queen room, so we had to settle for a "suite" with a sofa bed and a king.  The room was tiny, the sofa bed was old and dirty.  The "kitchen" was so small that none of the drawers could be opened so all of the dishes etc. were on a high shelf!  There were only 2 cups & we never received the third we requested.  When we called for a blanket for the sofa bed, they told us to come to the desk to get it (forget friendly delivery!)  When we complained about the room, the clerk said, "Well, after all it IS a pet room...)  Well, I paid extra for a pet room and that's no excuse for such a shoddy mess!!  The desk clerks were cold and unfriendly except for one young man on the last morning when we checked out!  I would NEVER stay at this establishment again or recommend it to anyone.  Country Inns & Suites have a great reputation and that is the reason we booked this place, but they need to do some investigating in Tucson!

We had a great rate but little else. The hotel is quite old, but mostly clean. Front desk people were nice enough during check in. Later, they were unable to follow through and resolve issues. Our room was a "suite" (bedroom seperated by a door from the TV/office room). A flat screen TV was in the bedroom area and an older TV was in the other area. The remote for the flat screen didn't work. A call to the front desk did not resolve the problem. On the second day of our stay, someone visited to change batteries. It didn't resolve the problem. The security lock (the type that you flip over) fell off the wall. The front desk sent someone to screw it back into the same holes. A bit laughable. The complimentary breakfast was average. We will not return to this facility.

Avoid This Hotel

On the surface this hotel was okay (late arrival, first night stay). Courteous check-in clerk. Room too close to parking lot and major road way (very dark corridor) on first floor. Room aged and run down (cabinets worn out, etc.). Shower moldey and by end of 4 day stay toilet had not been cleaned in the bowl. Bedspread was dirty. After first morning continental breakfast room lacked food and beverages were watered down! Fruit was green, cereal was stale and progressively got worse! Pool area lacked towels in the afternoon and the lounge chairs were broken and tables were not cleaned for days at a time. The pool and hot tub, however, were clean and nice. For the value I would not recommend this hotel to any one.
