wonderful staff!

I stayed in the hotel right after they reopened (in fact opening weekend) and despite the restaurant not being done, and the staff still trying to figure out the new computer system, my stay was perfect. Not only did the front desk staff take care of me, but the valets were AMAZING. Friendly, joking, and fun to talk to while waiting for a car. I can't wait to go back in a few weeks and stay again
Hotel DeLuxe

The newly renovated Hotel Deluxe, formerly the well-known Mallory Hotel, was very nice. Even though the room was small it was very charming. The retro style of the hotel typified the Hollywood era of the 40's. I don't know if every room had the same portraits but we were graced with a portrait of Cary Grant over our bed! Who could ask for anything more! The restaurant staff were very friendly, even coming out to chat as we ordered dessert and a latte in the lobby.

Given the price and the pictures, I expected great things from the DeLuxe but came away disappointed. The service was seamless and the food very good but my room was disppointing. There were lights burned out and the tiny bathroom smelled funky and had a shower drain that was plugged. An out-of-the way location further hurts the score.

Comfortable beds, friendly staff, unique hotel! Easy to find, easy acccess to freeways. LCD TVs a plus - and pet-friendly as well
