My husband & I live in the Houston area. We had plans to go to the opera in the theatre district, so we decided to stay in downtown overnight to avoid the return drive that night. Check in went ok, but when we entered our room, it was incredibly small & very bland. Had I have known, I would have paid more somewhere else to get a larger/nicer room. Also, we could hear EVERY time someone took a shower (which seemed almost constant). I woke up several times from this noise. Breakfast was not included in the price (they should have given even a continental breakfast), & did not provide newspapers anywhere on site. It was ok for a one night stay, but any longer, I would definitely go to a different hotel. The only real positive I can say about this hotel is that the location was EXCELLENT. Only 4 blocks from the theatre district, & there were many restaurants & nightclubs in the area.

We stayed at this hotel for a wedding. It was a great downtown location. We had rented a car and there was a 24-hour valet service that was great. The hotel wsa very secure and we felt safe there.

The hotel itself is in a nice location for my purposes and the staff was friendly and helpful. The amenities were easily accessible. That was the good - now for the bad:
Room 231 is in a reclaimed elevator shaft, as I assume the others are on the floors directly above. This causes a near-constant (dependent upon vacancy of course) rumbling from the elevator sharing the common wall. There is also a night club in the same building complex that is VERY loud and there seemed to be no end to the noise and vibration. The front desk notified the police twice during the night to no avail.
I write this review and give a "Terrible" rating opinion as I DID get my valet parking comped for the evening ($18), but this did not make up for my Houston Half Marathon performance due to the lack of sleep and stress. There was no manager on duty as promised when I requested a scheduled audience.
I wrote corporate expressing my desire for them to review this room and the night club, etc. so that the next tenant wouldn't have the same issues. I received no reply. I emailed again two weeks later and after 7 weeks I have still not received any feedback that they would even review my complaint. I am not looking for anything other than the issue be resolved moving forward.
No reply implies they are dismissive of my complaint and hence I am now writing reviews. There could at least be some communication that the room(s) will be 'tagged' as high traffic, etc. or that someone even received my compliant.

This is my first stay at CQ and I would definately go back again. As a woman traveling alone I felt completely safe. The staff was friendly and helpful. Centrally located in downtown Houston. Walking distance to tons of restaurants and I never felt unsafe. I had food delivered for dinner one evening (no restaurant in hotel) it was delivered, I was called in my room and the meal was charged (with small delivery charge) to my room when I checked out. I would recommend it for business travelers, women, or tourists unfamiliar with Houston. Location is good and the area is really being renovated.
