I was pleasantly surprised by the Portland Courtyard. This hotel looks like it belongs in a big city. It is as good, or better than most Full Service Marriotts.
The Staff was one of the friendliest and accomodating staffs I have ever experienced.
The rooms are really cool, as are the Large, High Def, flat panel TV's. I will definately stay at this Courtyard both for busines and with my family while in Portland!
poor choice for a weekend getaway

My major concern was the size of the pool... it is more of a wading pool, great for very small children. Adults scrape their knuckles and stub their toes! Hot tub very uncomfortable, made of concrete. No HBO or in-room movies. No newspaper on weekends. the lobby is kind of dark and uninviting, so we chose the local -I-hop, which is close by. On the bright side, The beds were very new and very confortable and the pillows were the best I've seen in a hotel. The bathroom was nice and roomy. A Jacuzzi would have been good, though. Great for a business trip ,but not great for a get-away weekend.
