Candidate for "Worst Western"

  • July 19, 2009
  • Rated 1 of 5 by GCarl from Saulheim, Germany
If there should be an award for the "Worst Western" this hotel is a good candidate for the winner. The whole hotel is dirty, don't know when the last cleaning was done in the public areas and in the guest room. Bags with trash were lying on the aisles the whole day long. The packages with sugar, straws etc in the room were already opened by guests who stayed before us in the room and have not been replaced by the cleaning staff. The staff at the reception is very unfriendly not to say rude. The spa wasn't heated (pool temperature). The breakfast is a joke (canned fruits, no refills etc.) and fully in line with the overall experience.

Don't staty at this hotel

Worst Best Western that I have stayed in. Room was dirty! Free wireless internet was not working. Called toll free help desk, and was advised to contact front desk to reset access port closest to my room. Called front desk, and no one answered the phone after repeated attempts. After walking to front desk, was told we would have to wait for the manager to come in at 8am to reset the port. Rated 3 diamond by travel websites, but don't believe it. Stay across the street at the Best Western-Lake Powell. It appears the Best Western that I stayed in was previously a Motel 6.

Good Value

Free continental breakfast was ok. Fairly clean. Beds a little hard. Problem when we were there as electricity went out in portions of entire city. Staff had NO emergency lighting at all. They were all kids, and had NO idea what to do - although they tried. I had to help some old senior citizens as I had a book light to use as flashlights.

Ok but not as good as most Best Westerns

Our stay was 2 nihgts, we had a non smoking room but could still smell smoke in the room and halls, the elevator was broken and we had to carry our luggage upstairs and down a long hall with no assistance. The breakfast was ok, nothing to brag about, just cereal, toast, not as good as most other hotels we stayed at. The room was clean but older. The pool was closed. I booked online and when I arrived they said we had 2 rooms booked but were ok with just canceling the other reservation.

The pool was down for the season. Great views if your room is not facing the parking lot.
