The devil will be pushing a snowblower....

Requested well in advance, non-smoking and quiet (we assumed clean) and got none. EVERY piece of furniture in the room had cigarette burns. We found the ironing board in the center of the room because it would not retract for storage. The room was dark,as some of the lamps had cords too short to reach plugs and management believes a 40 watt bulb sufficient illumination. We checked in for a 4 night stay after dark and were too tired to argue, but upon inspection of the mattress,as well as some suspicious bite marks in the daylight, we immediately checked out. The front desk clerk would not let my wife check in, even though she had made all the arrangements in her name, which were on the online travel website documents. He insisted on my identification, which he photocopied, despite the fact we had paid in advance. Quiet? Our room was near a stairway, which people in high heeled shoes walked up and down all night. Old, smelly, run into the ground, this is how a motel should NOT be operated. And I do believe in guilt by association, so I and my family will not stay at any Days Inn ever, and will make that recommendation to friends and business associates.

THe hotel was about 1-15 minutes from the Columbia Airport, and the location was very close to Fort Jackson. THe hotel room had a smell of smoke or mildew. THe staff was nice, southern hospitality. THe complimentary breakfast was ok, nothing to party about. If you need a resonible priced stay, this is the place. (No Frills or THrills)

Days Inn/ Ft Jackson

Well I went to this Days Inn due to the convenience of the location to Ft. Jackson. I got in late at night the day before my son's family day after a long day of flying from Seattle Wa. The guy at the front desk was very friendly & reminded me that breakfast was served at 0630 next to the front desk area. Got up, went over for breakfast and was impressed that it was actually pretty good, much better then your standard continental. I had a little difficulty sleeping the 1st night due to a noisey refrigerator in the room, but it was replaced immediatly upon request. The front desk had directions written out to get to gate 4 at Ft. Jackson and it was really easy getting there, about 10 minutes max. The hotel is located right accross from Coumbia Mall, theatre & plenty of places to eat. I really recommend you going towards Ft Jackson on Decker and just past the overhead train trussel eat at the Longhorn resturant, AWESOME food. Anyway, was pleased with the room, king size bed, all was clean, sevice was great & location was perfect if your coming for Army family day and/or graduation.

The room was okay but could have been cleaner. Main complaint was management who wanted to argue with me about having tickets for breakfast. Told me I had tickets in my room and I didn't. She gave up breakfast to the 3 of us but grudgingly. Pool looked awful so didn't even get in it. It was nice to have the mall across the street and good places to eat not that far away. It was an easy drive to Ft Jackson which was the purpose of our trip. I could handle staying there again but would likely look for somewhere else.

First ofall we stayed at this hotelbefore and wasn't real impressed then. But when my husband and 6 yr old decided to go see our oldest daughter at Fort Jackson, it was only for one night and to sleep. They put him in a room with no lamp shade, no remote the door would not lock, and when they turned down the beds--BUGS!! both beds. The guy at the front desk thought it was funny. Moved him to a really loud room and the manager is never in to make amends for the problem.
