Kids Paradise

  • March 13, 2008
  • Rated 4 of 5 by a traveler from Travelocity.com
We stayed here with 4 adults and 2 little girls, aged 6 and 1. We really enjoyed our stay and were very sad to have to leave. We loved the fact that this is a gated community. This made us feel very safe with our kids. This resort is very close to Sea World and short drive up Turkey Lake Drive to Universal Studios. If you have kids, this resort has it all. My girls loved the pools. One with a pirate ship and the other with a waterslide. The have a sport court with 4 basketball hoops, and also an area with 2 pool tables, 2 ping pong tables, and a foosball table. Also a mini golf course on site. There is an activity center for the kids with a few video games. We loved the surroundings, very laid back and were never bugged about time share things. The staff was very helpful and always had a smile and a hello for us. Keep in mind that this resort is very much themed for kids and if you are a kid in heart you will have a blast with your little ones. If not, you've been warned...

Vacation with my mother-in-law

  • October 19, 2007
  • Rated 5 of 5 by a traveler from Travelocity.com
My husband and I brought our 3 year old and my mother-in-law along on this trip. The 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo was perfect for us and we consider ourselves hotel snobs. It gave us plenty of room and having two bedrooms allowed Grandma and the little one to go to bed earlier when they needed to. The weather was a bit chilly but we still had fun in the pool. The resort even offers a great playground for kids. Would definitely stay here again!

Best Things Nearby:
Publix Market, Sea World, and Discovery Cove.

Best Things About the Resort:
Lots of space in units - brand new property.

Resort Experience:
We exchanged into this resort with a Bonus Certificate from II, splitting the cost with friends. We paid less than $50 a night, but rooms run about $198 -$224 per night.

Our Unit #1020 (a two bedroom unit sleeping eight, our party included six) looked exactly like the pictures featured on the resort website. The unit was immaculate and had fresh appearance. The condition of the unit over all was nice. The bedrooms were a very comfortable size. The bedding was nice and crisp, pillows and mattresses great!

We ate breakfast in our unit every day and cooked several dinners there as well. The kitchen was equipped with all the usual necessities and was easy for two people to work in at the same time. They also had group activities, but we did not use them due to our own schedule. The resort amenities included a bar and grill area by the pool, which we used twice during our stay. We found the food to be reasonably priced and well prepared.

We found the staff to be some of the most professional timeshare staff we have encountered at any property we have ever stayed at. The staff was very informative, attentive, and eager to make our stay a pleasure.

The resort is about 10 - 15 minutes from the four Disney parks and super convenient to Sea World and Discovery Cove, which are five minutes away. There is also a Publix Super Market less than five minutes away. We found the prices here reasonable and items easy to locate, since it was a market we had never shopped in before.

The only problem we encountered in the unit had to do with a DVD player that showed DVD's with a blue hue to everything. Maintenance came out and immediately replaced it with another one, which seemed to have the same problem. The unit was then replaced with a VCR and we were offered free video rentals.

We mostly encountered families with kids as the highlight of the pool area is a large Pirate Ship with water slides, which the two children in our party loved (we stayed at a Disney hotel the first night, but the kids liked the Marriott better than the Disney property). Most people seem to be in bed early and up and out early. This resort is probably more suitable for families with kids, but I would stay here without them too. Overall I would rate the resort a nine, for location, staff friendliness, and Resort amenities.

We also attended a timeshare presentation, and found the salesman to be easy going and confident in what he was selling. It was not a hard sell. We probably spent 40 minutes and got our free gift, $75 in Disney Dollars. We had a great stay here - we would not hesitate to book this property again.
