Could be worse

The hotel itself is fine, nice location, close to airport. Stayed when we landed in Portland from Tennessee, the shuttle took 25min and two phone calls to get picked up at airport even though the drive to hotel took less than 5 minutes. Was also surprised that they refused to check us in without a credit card to authorize $150 in case we smoked. The room was good and beds were comfy, downside was mold in the bathroom.... both bathrooms as we stayed on another night before we left Oregon. No fans in the bathroom is a bad choice on the hotels part as the mold and paint falling off the door trim is due to all the moisture in the air. Overall rate was good for what we got... could've been worse.

We had a wonderful stay. It was a little loud at night with the airport right there. We had a place to eat close by which had really good food that had an amazing wait staff and cook. They provided a porta-crib. The shuttle service was great. I was a little disappointed the pool was closed. I didn't know when booking it was an outdoor pool so it was a little to chilly to be swimming. Over all I would go back again.
Poor Choice -- better to sleep in car

Hotel rooms had a bad odor. Switched from one room to another and still not pleasant smelling. Also, ealry morning flights -- -- before 6:00 am were a rude awakening, so to speak. Shower was slippery; very easy to slip and fall. Not many parking places if you return late to your room. I think they allow people to park and fly, but it leaves very few spaces for guests of the Hotel.
Disappointing Stay

Overall the accomodations were adequate, but there were some significant negatives.
The beds were comfortable, but the fitted sheets would not stay on the mattress, and if the sheets were not tucked in again by the occupants, during the night, one ended up sleeping on the mattress pad or the bare mattress!
There was a moldy patch on the ceiling in the shower.
Staff was mostly helpful, but not always. Personally I don't think this hotel lives up to the Red Lion reputation.
