This place is exactly what the doctor calls for when he says some time away will do you well. There are beaches nearby, along with shopping clubs and Camp Pendelton... things get wild, and then very mild.

The Four Seasons Aviara

The Four Seasons is one of the most luxurious hotel chains in the world. With many hotels in many countries, they have come to be regarded with esteem.

Aviara, a Four Seasons Hotel in south San Diego, is a prime example of the luxury that awaits you at their hotels. The hotel is built to reflect its natural surroundings and blend in very well. In fact, all of the Four Seasons resorts strive for this. At Aviara there is a world-class golf course, two pools (a family pool and a quiet pool), a state-of-the-art fitness facility, a full day spa offering every kind of treatment, and four restaurants or room service.

While sunning at the pool, you will be poured fresh ice water and served whatever you want from the poolside grill. Oftentimes, staff members will walk around with complimentary frozen melon, popsicles, or even watermelon granita. They will also mist you with water if you so desire and come around once every 10 minutes or so to see if everything is to your liking. It’s a very odd thing to be waited on, especially if you aren't normally. Believe me, though, you get used to it... maybe too used to it.

The rooms are well appointed and almost have a hacienda feel to them. Fireplaces are in every room, and the romance is almost overwhelming. The bathrooms are all granite with showers and tubs, complete with a bevy of L'Occitane products to pamper yourself.

There is fresh coffee in the lobby in the morning and a paper waiting at your door.

Rates start at about $330 per night. For that price I assure you, you will want for nothing. Enjoy!
