Great view and location

We had a double room with river view and it was great. Very nice decor and clean. Beds were great with down comforters. Bath had separate vanities and shower + tub. The view looked over to the Trump Hotel and it was fun to watch the city river view. Close to at least 2 nice restaurants right outside the door. Parking was close in a lot and cars were even parked on the street by the river. (I dont know prices or how long you could park free on the street) It was very handy to transportation and shopping. Close to Grant Park or walk to Navy Pier. Would definitely stay again if the price was right. We booked online and got a discount. Air wasn't working when we arrived and they fixed it while we were out.

Hotel 71 Chic but lacking in substance.

The aesthetics of the hotel are great until we got to our room. It was roomy but the walls were cracked and showed age to what we thought was a new building. There was no fridge and the only way to get ice was to go to the 38th floor or call room service and wait 40 minutes. The elevators were very slow. The front desk clerks couldn't even tell me where to find the nearest Starbucks and when they called the valet, he brought us the wrong car twice. The doormen were very nice and helpful and the beds were comfortable. The rooms are quite large. The location is excellent. It really can't be beat.

good location - quiet

Very handy to lots of bus lines. On upper floor (23) very quiet, even facing Wacker Drive. Friendly staff, knowledgable about the surrounding area. Good breakfast joint a couple doors away. Room small but adequate. Had a couple glitches in the TV etc, but immediately fixed by service man. Reasonable value for a center city location.

Great Deal

I got upgraded to a renovated room and it was quite a treat. The staff was extremely courteous. Room service was fast. This hotel is right on the river. It's central, close to the train stations, minutes away from Magnificent Mile, Navy Pier, Hancock Observatory, all are walking distance. One thing I was suprised about - the heater in the room. It was not working. They had to give me a space heater because they said the heater for the whole building was turned off. Overall, I would stay in this hotel again and would recomment to anyone.

we stayed at this hotel for one night. the room was huge! the view was wonderful, and the location was just perfect. however, the parking is ridiculously expensive... also, elevators are a little slow. would stay again for the right price
