Expect a clean room, not a lot of parking, and trains 2-3 times during the night.
The location is superb, and the free breakfast is okay....

Excellent hotel,walking distance to beach.Big comfortable bed.nice size tv.Pool and hot tub were just what I needed after a long drive.Easy to find,right off of freeway.

We needed a place for only 1 night, on short notice, they had rooms and they were close to the harbor and the Ventura County Fair. When I first entered the room, it had a disinfectant smell to it, not too pleased but once I turned on the air it seemed to go away. The room itself was clean and tidy.
Here's the downside...I read a review that talked about the proximity of the railroad tracks, I was jolted awake around midnight or 1:00 a.m. by the rumbling, shaking, and blaring horn of the train that was passing behind the Best Western. My wife had a good laugh, I thought it was an earthquake!
Here's the good part... The complimentary breakfast was wonderful! There was make your own waffles, cereal, milk, fruit, and yoplait yogurt. My wife and daughter loved it! I forgot to note that the room also had a small refrigerator, microwave, and a coffee maker at no extra charge.

This was my third and fourth time staying here and I find this hotel to be an excellent value. The staff is friendly and attentive. The rooms are clean and having a mini frig. a microwave and a coffe maker makes staying here all the more comfortable. Wireless internet access is free. They also have a couple of PC's in the lobby for guest use for free as well. The breakfast is very nicely done the waffles are wonderful.. This hotel like most of the ones nearby is close to both the freeway and the train tracks so there is some noise but not enough to keep one from sleeping well.

Not "cheap" (although certainly competitve for the area). You still get a lot for your money, though. Helpful, courteous staff. Nice lobby. Comfortable room, with micro/fridge, HBO, Free wireless internet. Comfortable bed. Advice: get upstairs, away from the back, and close the bathroom door while sleeping. Noise was the only drawback of this otherwise fine vaction spot.
