Awesome view!

The view from our 7th floor room was beautiful! We looked to the left for the Smoky Mountains and to the right the city of Gatlinburg. Check-in was a little slow; only 1 person working. We arrived after 5:30 p.m. and still had 6 people in line in front of us. The room was large. Some small stains on the carpeting; another sitting chair would be nice (there is room for 1 or 2 more). Other than that it was a very nice room. The location (of course) is long walk to the city but there was convenient trolly service (50 cents per ride) which we used and liked. Previously I read a review stating dogs were only allowed on the 1st and 2nd floors. Fortunately, that was not true. My husband loved it and wants to stay here again.

What A Bargain!

This Hotel was an awesome Bargain! The Hotel was very clean, very comfortable. The pictures were accurate in portraying the Hotel. Excellent view of the town and the mountains! Although 3-4 blocks off of Main St., there was a trolley which could pick you up at the front door and take you down to Main St. for .50 a person and you didn't have to worry about trying to find a place to park once you were in town. The trolley ran up until midnight every night and the pool was also open until midnight every night. I traveled with 3 teenagers and a 3 yr. old and we were all very pleased with our experience. Well worth the $$

Lobby, Swimming Pool beautiful - Rooms need updating.

When you walk into the hotel, you are surrounded by a well-balanced beauty. However, when you walk into your hotel room, you notice that they need work. In our room, the carpet was pulled up by the entrance into the bathroom with a nail sticking up. Also, the light bulbs in the room were replaced with efficient ones, but they don't fit the lamps well and it showed burn damage on some. The cleaning staff does not speak English and there was confusion as to when to clean the room. Stayed there during Christmas, so we thought to check out the restaurant for a beautiful buffet - how disappointing. For the price we paid, we should have a real spiral ham and not some store bought compressed "out of the can" ham. However, we did have a beautiful view! Both in the restaurant as well as in our room. The pool area is absolutely fantastic! Overall our experience was good.

We had a great stay.
Pros: Very clean / safe / friendly staff / geat value / located on the trolley route / GREAT VIEW!!
Cons: Lacking entertainment options / restaurant is pretty pricey / cannot walk to-from the city
Overall, a geat hotel--even if we were only on the 2nd floor, with a view of the parking lot.
The trolley ride up and down the hill was very exciting.

Great place to stay!

I was a little weary when I saw that the price was only $*/night. When we got there I was completely surprised. The decor was a little dated, but nothing terrible. The rooms were nice and large. And our room had a gorgeous view - room 803. Half our view was of downtown Gatlinburg the other half was of the Smokey?s. I wouldn't recommend eating at Eleanor's for breakfast. It was way overpriced - $8.95/person for the buffet. The eggs were rubbery and the biscuits were dry. The waffles were good though. But I would try one of the 19 different pancake places in town. (No joke - there are 19 different pancake restaurants between Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge.) I would avoid the Flapjacks restaurant though (the one in Pigeon Forge near the Lid'l Dolly's quilt outlet store), we had them on our last day there and the pancakes were quite dry. I would definitely recommend driving through the national park and going through Cade's Cove, We got some beautiful pictures of the mountains. Well worth the drive. Overall our stay at Park Vista was fabulous and the only thing I wouldn't do again was eat breakfast at Eleanor's. Fabulous place to stay at an amazing price!!
