Avoid This Resort

The only reason we stayed at this resort was for the location on the lake with a private balcony for fishing. Never again, at least from this company Vacation Resorts International.
This resort does not deliver to silver class quality. Just look at how so many units are available and the ease to get this resort. They try to cut expenses at every corner and could care less about the satisfaction of their vacation guests. Fees galore. It is on a lake so prepare for bugs and filth, and in our case a cockroach in the bathroom. Balconies are a mess and covered in spiderwebs. No mid-week cleaning as common at other resorts - Expect to pay $45 if you want a cleaning. Make sure you bring both room keys with you, because these faulty keys easily deactivate even away from your phones, and they have no problem charging $50 + time waiting to back into unit + guilt trip from lady having to wake up her kid and come out and help you after hours while you sit around wasting time. They try and pawn off this fault on the guest, when in turn the guest is being the one inconvenienced, because the fail to want to pay for adequate staffing hours to properly assist guests. Definitely would not recommend wasting a vacation here. They clearly do not value their guests and or their opinions on all the setbacks of this resort. After contacting the parent company VRI, I would probably never stay at any of their resorts just based on their outlook on the business, lack of concerns with their guests, and overall unprofessional. Perhaps the surveys at checkout would be more honest if the receptionist does not stare you down as you fill it out, and then grab and read it as soon you put it down.

This was one of the best places to stay and would definitely stay there again and again because of the peace, area and service.

They had fantastic two-bedroom units overlooking Lake Conroe and two very large swimming pools, but little in the way of evening entertainment. Conroe is only a short drive away, with some fantastic restaurants and bars.

Best Things Nearby:
Nice lake, not too far from Houston, close to Huntsville.
Best Things About the Resort:
Nicely decorated, good kitchen utensils, nice pools. Ok fitness center.
Resort Experience:
I do not recommend this resort if you are staying on the first floor units. You could hear very clear people's steps, children running, beds moving (you know what I mean), chairs moving. It was awful!! I had to wait until the family above me went to bed so I could sleep. I ended up buying a pair of earplugs, those ones that people use when they go hunting, so I could finally go to sleep.
- Unit Type: 1 Bedroom

- Unit Satisfaction: Poor
- Family Friendliness: Good
