Description: The hotel is in a beautifully restored 19th C. building, and the service is equally as impressive. The lobby's ceilings are at least 40 feet high, and one side has six or seven collosal windows which drown the huge room with natural light. There is a common room with a bar and fireplace on the other side of the check-in counter. This is where our wedding ceremony was held. With the high ceiligs, bright mid-morning light, and soft pastel colors of the lobby walls, it was a great setting for a wedding. Georgia Antonopoulos was the sales rep with whom we worked, and she set us up with everything from restaurant recommendations for the rehearsal dinner to hairdressers and florists for the wedding. The entire staff was extremely professional, without being arrogant. Just as an example, one of our guests ran out of film during the reception, and the bellhop ran down the street to the drug store for her and wouldn't accept a tip. And the rooms are the nicest I've seen. We stayed in the Hotel Place D'Armes Suite, and it was incredible. It took up two floors, and the bathroom alone was bigger than most hotel rooms. The cost was also reasonable at ($450 CAN). The hotel has 48 rooms, and our guests occupied most of them. It was a surprising benefit that every time we went to the lobby, we ran into a host of our friends and family. The lobby is so comfortable that our guests hung out there all the time. And if this wasn't enough, they serve a scruptous breakfast: fresh breads, great coffee, smoked salmon, pastries, etc. And it's located right in Old Montreal, so getting great post-reception pictures were right outside the door.
