high end motel

I would not reccomend stay here. Location has a nice view if you are facing the ocean but if not, it's pretty much a isolated, deserted, overly priced motel on the coast. For the same price i could of gotten a room at the hyatt. It was my first time staying in Long beach and wasn't familiar with hotels in that area. The hotel is in need of an exterior renovation but the rooms were not bad. Checking into our room there were DISHES AND WASTED FOOD right infront of our door. How is that possible? I have no idea. The maids clean the room prior to usage so why were dished in the front? ask the manager. After calling and reporting this, it took about 15 minutes to have someone clear it. Over all, i would never go there again. $160 a night for a quiet sunday is price gauging. I would recommend the westin or hyatt for the money. Have you ever felt like just going home already after your stay at a hotel that was discomforting? that's how i felt.

Pre Catalina Island home base

We have just returned from our first (but not our last!) trip to Catalina Island. We chose the Coast Long Beach Hotel because of its close proximity to the Catalina Express boat service to the island. The Coast Hotel was a great experience. Jonathan, the desk clerk, took the time to determine if a particular room was ready for occupancy when we arrived. We ended up with an great bay view. We could see the Queen Mary (our destination port) for the next day's departure. A second port for Catalina Express was just across the bay. The convenient location just outside of the main part of the city allowed us quick and easy access to freeways that took us to the Santa Monica Pier for entertainment and dinner. The room was very clean and well equipped. We especially enjoyed the patio overlooking the bay. The heated granite floors in the bathroom were a real plus! We will recommend this hotel to family and friends that plan a trip to the area!

Oh the sound

Kids setting off fire alarms with not retribution. They just did it again. Blast they just allow them to run all over. Any noise in the courtyard echoes througout and comes right into the rooms. Even the clicking of high heels wakes me. I'm a light sleeper who did not sleep.

Good hotel for the price

The hotel was located in a great place with a great view of downtown Long Beach. The hotel was kept up well. The option of indoor/outdoor dining made for a very relaxing breakfast. The only deficiencies noticed were very small...door locks that needed to be tightened or replaced and some intermittent noise from the bathroom.
